KAKEGURUI: GAMBLING, MIND GAMES AND RISKS

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19. I think that this was my best anime for mind games, it’s like you’re watching the mind games of death note but on a lighter tone. I definitely recommend this to all, just please watch it alone.

The story takes place at Hyakkaou Private Academy, a place where the rich and influential send their kids to learn and become future leaders of the world but this academy hides a secret and that is that you’re not judged by grades or sports rather by gambling skill. Sounds crazy right? Well it surely is because at this academy if you lose your money and go into debt you’re treated as a house pet, someone even less than human until you pay off the debt. Enter Yumeko Jabami a compulsive gambler, a Kakegurui. When she first steps into class she goes against Saotome Mary who attempts to hustle her and get her money but Yumeko proves to be smarter and outwits Mary. Seeing that the woman ruling at the top of this power structure is the Student Council president, Kirari, Yumeko decides that she wants to go up against her in an attempt to find someone as crazy as her to gamble with.

During the course of the story Yumeko gets to gamble with a lot of different people in different games which I salute the author for writing also every single person at the academy cheats but Yumeko proves smarter than them, outwitting them and bringing her opponents to their knees. Now as for character development, Yumeko doesn’t develop at all that is because her character is perfectly written, she isn’t driven by a sense of justice or by emotions from a past, all she wants is to gamble and the higher the risk, the more her excitement. Yumeko doesn’t have any emotional moments in the anime but that isn’t to say that there aren’t any emotional moments. There are other characters who play a major role in the story and Yumeko with her gambling either makes their lives better or worse. Yumeko is a Kakegurui in the very essence of the word, she gambles for the sake of gambling and you cannot forget her words after her very first match, “A gamble where my victory or my opponent’s victory is fixed isn’t gambling and I came to this academy to gamble”. The limits to which Yumeko goes also shows her intense trust in her friends and in her luck, she doesn’t want to cheat her opponent, she wants to fight fair and leave it all up to chance to decide the winning factor. Over time you will see jut how much she can bet on a gamble.

The anime uses a lot of symbolism such as the last episode of the very first season which involves a game using Tarot Cards. The anime has a generally tense atmosphere and the one thing I noticed is that we never hear Yumeko’s thoughts but of the other characters, she reveals her plan using her voice but not once do we see her thinking style. I think that implies a lot on just how clever and perfect Yumeko’s plans are. The first season gives most of the spotlight to Yumeko and I liked that I always love her character but other characters have their moments too, emotional ones that change their thinking and which makes you wonder what Yumeko really is an angel to help people or a devil to ruin them? The answer is that she isn’t either she is just there to gamble. The second season gives more spotlight to side characters like Mary and Suzui and introduces new characters which further depends the plot and brings new games. Yumeko helps a lot of people throughout her journey so she does take on the classic Main character mantle.

The finale of both the seasons is great and makes a complete game of chance but with the ned of season 2 there maybe a season 3 in the works or maybe it’s just my delusion because I want a season 3 so bad. The anime has a good soundtrack, not great but good. Also, if you hear the words, “Let’s get our gambling freaks on” you are in for a nice episode. As for the question the anime puts forward I think that it is, “What if there truly was someone with no fear to challenge authority?” and I think that personally if such a person exists they could turn the world upside down like Yumeko. Also the takeaway from this anime should be fearlessness and don’t gamble.

Rap Section:

A private gambling academy where there are no rules,
People that can’t win they are treated like mules,
But Yumeko Jabami’s here to take on all these fools,
Her attitude and intellect make the perfect tools.

She doesn’t have fear her opponents say she’s crazy,
She’ll take everyone on yeah she ain’t lazy,
But don’t even think of going against her baby,
With your tears she’s gonna make your vision hazy.

She ain’t after small fry she’s going for the top,
All of her opponents now like flies they drop,
It’s a dirty academy and she is here to mop,
She gets what she wants she ain’t gonna stop.

All of these rhymes couldn’t describe her if they tried to,
She’s got her friends behind her yeah that’s her crew,
And if she comes there trying to gamble with you,
You bet to save yourself there’s nothing you can do.

Emotion Agility – Understanding the emotions that guide us

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. I have so much to say about this book and I am trying to control myself, so let’s go.

Emotions. The main theme of the book is about not being driven by emotions, its about not letting our emotions control us. The reason why I love this concept so much is that the Bhagavad Gita tells us the same thing, it tells us to control our emotions and our mind instead of letting the take over. This books talks a lot about how to detach from your emotions and how to feel them and not let them control you.

The book tells us about tons of different cases where Emotional Agility can come in handy straight from childhood all the way up to having a job. The book isn’t just another, ‘think positive and deny the negative emotions’ kind of book rather the book talks about the so called negative emotions in detail (I believe that nothing is negative it’s just all about how we use it). Emotions like fear, anger, discomfort all of them as discussed and talked about, we are told how we must learn to feel these emotions and how to learn from them and not lose ourselves in them.

I really loved how the book divides the way we experience emotions into three distinct types. The first one is bottling, which comes from things like, ‘Boys don’t cry’, ‘You just need to push through this.’ and while I do agree that sometimes we just need to push through things it doesn’t mean that we don’t need to validate our feelings, we need to stop bottling and keeping the feelings inside of us and instead feel them and understand them. The second type is dwelling which is, ‘I am not good at this.’, ‘I so messed up typing up that blog post.’ Yes I’ll admit this is me sometimes and this is more like spiraling, thinking about an emotion again and again and letting it completely take you over and control your future performance. The third and final type of experiencing emotion is experiencing the emotion and detaching ourselves from it. This might seem very complex but it’s actually very simple, when we feel sad we need to acknowledge that we feel sad and then learn and move on.

Another thing that the book talk about is chanting something to really acknowledge that thing’s presence and see it for it’s qualities allowing us to really be present in the moment. My mantra meditation works on a similar principle and I so related to this, once I chant the name of God constantly I begin to think about the form of the Lord, His different pastimes and all of this combined makes for a really grounding and deeply spiritual experience. This is also why repeating affirmations to yourself works so well.

The book mainly speaks about how to be emotionally agile in every aspect of our lives and while I disagree with some parts of the book such as talking of only the relative truth and not the absolute truth or saying that ‘negative opinions are wrong’ because a negative opinion is just that a negative opinion and according to what the book teaches we must not let that opinion affect our ego but rather take the opinion for what it is, analyze it, determine if it’s true and move forward. While the book has some mistakes like these or rather we can call it contradictions or surface knowledge, the book is regardless a very good read and absolutely essential for everyone since it also teaches a lot like having ‘compassion for ourselves when we burnout’ which I am implementing. I want everyone to read the book and to learn to detach from our emotions and move on, making us truly, Emotionally Agile.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this.  Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram and Twitter with your thoughts and if you have any ideas on what I should write about. Stay safe from the COVID-19. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

Why the Tokyo Ghoul Manga is better than the anime.

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. Tokyo Ghoul, man I loved the anime, absolutely loved the action even though I didn’t understand much of the story. Recently as I got into manga I decided to find out the true story lying beneath it and man I believe they stole a lot from us in the anime. Like the other ones this is going to be be FILLED WITH SPOILERS ANS GRAPHICAL CONTENT.

The story is pretty much the same for the first season with us finding out a lot of the mysteries that they couldn’t adapt into the anime like Rise and her being alive but the main thing that I liked about the manga was how graphic it was with each scene, it made you feel the weight of each and every dialogue and even if it wasn’t audible you could feel it. The story is so well fleshed out that we can actually make sense of it.

This scene below, the one where Kaneki accepts he is a Ghoul is the one where he is tortured by Jason, when you look closely you can see how much pain and suffering the scene shows as well as how the human eye is getting squeezed showing that he’s more Ghoul now and the human inside us getting driven away. This impact is what the anime is lacking, the action is great but I couldn’t really every connect with the characters.

Seriously this hits you in the feels.

Next, the story, a lot and I mean a lot of it was stolen from us in the second season, just as a quick rundown, Kaneki forms his own group of ghouls and looks for Doctor Kano as does the Aogiri Tree and so the directors probably thought it was a good move to just jam it showing him with the Aogiri Tree than showing the conflict and everything else that comes in that part of the story. But that does completely against Kaneki’s character as you can see from the scene below.

This is the true Kaneki.

An entire arc of the story is missing with new characters that were introduced and a whole new story for the second season. I thoroughly enjoyed that new part much more than I did the second season of the anime. There was Kaneki negotiating and getting a presence in the Ghoul world as well as getting stronger by literally reading about martial arts and performing it. It stays true to his character which still has a tinge of innocence at that point.

Look at that fresh look Kaneki has, the anime stole this from us.

The emotional impact that the entire story has on Kaneki along with the mistakes he makes and the lives he takes all are portrayed beautifully in the manga. Kaneki isn’t just some on edge MC, he’s shown to have feelings and emotions and the manga expresses them beautifully like in the scene below. The twisted words, what they say, the situation it all fits his character and story.

This scene is so disturbing.

There’s also the part about Kaneki taking up his role the One Eyed King and leading the ghouls who follow him which was not put in the anime, instead we just saw it all crammed together in one scene of him getting married and the ghouls being there whereas in the manga it was all beautifully laid out and took its time to build up the characters and shows us their emotions as the story moved towards the final arc. We saw what Touka went through, Yomo went through, how Kaneki led with the shortage of food and everything else. The entire segment is important to the final arc. Even the scene with Kaneki and all his alter egos is different as he first debates what he should have done as he can’t save everyone and then his alter egos support him rather than him simply recieving their support. That just simply adds more to the character of Ken Kaneki.

See that drip ? We didn’t see that in the anime.

I was pissed was when we learnt about Doctor Kano, the one who performed the surgery on Kaneki and turned him into a Ghoul, while in the anime we never get to see the end of that plotline the manga explains that he was simple an experiment, a prototype and Rise, well she has such a complex story of her own that I can’t even begin to describe it here, not to mention Washu, V and the entire Ghouls are running the CCG gig. It was all cut out and now that I read the manga I can say it was a beautifully crafted story.

The main theme of Tokyo Ghoul which is the gray justice, the decision about what is actually right and wrong just gets so much more meaning when we see the story of Kaneki and his tragedy as he just keeps trying to do the right thing even when it backfires and doesn’t work teaching us that things are rarely black and white and nothing in life is simple but we simply must push ahead as far as we can go.

All in all, the manga gives us better understanding of the characters, their motivations and tells us why the events actually happened in the first place rather than simply giving us a haphazard mix of action scenes with a depressed MC. It makes you emotionally connect with every character, their loss and their gains as we move through the story. The Tokyo Ghoul manga is a must read for everyone if you think that the story of the anime was weak and also just because it’s so great. Also recommend me some good manga.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this.  Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram and Twitter with your thoughts and if you have any ideas on what I should write about and some manga recommendations. The Detective is already dead – An amazing story that leaves you wanting more

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19. I was hyped for this anime to come out because the title was just so interesting and while it was a bit disappointing at first, it definetly does pick up pace later on and become an amazing anime.

The story follows middle schooler Kimihiko Kimizuka who has a tendency to attract trouble towards himself. He has forced to join a flash mob while taking a leisurely walk, accidentally stumbled across an underworld transaction between drug dealers, and been at the site of crime scenes often enough to sometimes be considered a suspect and become somewhat friends with the inspector. All this leads to him hearing a few words on a place which change his life forever. The words being “Is there a detective on the plane?” Having attracted trouble to himself yet again, Kimizuka teams up with the legendary detective Seista who is sitting beside him on the plane and asks him to be her sidekick. This single incident sends Kimizuka on a three year journey with Seista as her sidekick until death parts them. Now a year later Kimizuka is again pulled into the conflict against SPES, the organization that made superhumans by giving them powers that Seista fought against. Kimizuka is demotivated at first but will he pick up the battle against SPES, because after all, The detective is already dead.

The character are vast and yet not so vast. What I mean is that we alternate between the past and the present in this story. The past has us seeing Kimizuka who is pretty mature for his age as he goes around solving cases with the wise and witty Seista who takes pleasure in pulling Kimizuka’s leg and has a very pleasant personality. Even in cases she pulls such tricks which solve the case before it begins because according to her that’s what a legendary detective should do. There’s the inspector Fubi who helps out Kimizuka with his cases. Char who works under Seista and idolizes her. In the present we have Natsunagi Nagisa, someone who connected to Seista in a way that I do not want to reveal right now. There’s also Saikawa Yui who joins Kimizuka eventually. All these characters have their own distinct personalities and are interconnected with each other.

The anime has a great soundtrack to listen to and that’s amazing but what’s the real strong point of the anime is how well everything adds up in the end. At first I was very confused and even considered dropping the anime but when I followed through and saw what the story actually ended up being I loved it and loved the way that it all flowed in so beautifully together. The anime might seem confusing at first but don’t be bothered by it. You should just push through and see what the story becomes. The funny parts, the serious parts it all comes together nicely mixed with some action and romance.

The lesson to draw isn’t exactly evident from the story itself because I don’t feel like there’s a lesson to be seen yet but what I learned from watching the anime is that patience is the key to everything. If I didn’t have the patience to sit through the anime then I would have never discovered it’s greatness and that applies to life too, what seems confusing at first might make sense later as long as we are patient

The finale is an amazing ending with an emotional moment with fantastic action. This season is supposed to be all about introducing the characters and allowing us to get comfortable with them and there is plenty of room for a season 2 which I am desperately waiting for because, even though the detective is already dead. Her dying wish will never die. And like Kimizuka said, It’s too soon to call this an epilogue. With a confusing and yet well knit together story with some pretty good action and a nice hint of romance, The Detective is already dead is a must watch anime and I am probably going to be looking for the novels because I want more of this story.

Rap section:

High in the air a terrorist highjacks a plane,
And Kimizuka Kimihiko is in trouble once again,
He’s always gotten into trouble but why he can’t explain,
Asked to become a sidekick and he can’t complain.

Teaming up with Seista she’s a legendary detective,
She’s already solved the case much more than effective,
Of her sidekick now she’s very protective,
Taking down SPES is her real objective.

Now that he’s with her life seems to be going great,
Always running around ever case is like a date,
Everytime SPES comes around they rush straight,
Into battle leaving their lives upto fate.

But now Kimizuka is just cruising ahead,
Without Seiste from that life he just fled,
New cases come but he’s demotivated because as he said,
Seista the detective is already dead.

Tokyo Revengers – The next best anime

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19. This is honestly one of the best anime I might have seen till now and it has to be an anime that has the potential to be one of the best of this generation. I thought that this would be something different when I saw the trailer on twitter but what Tokyo Revengers is now is much much better. I jumped onto the manga at around the 6th episode but I’ve been keeping myself from writing that post because I wanted to talk about the anime first. SPOILERS AHEAD.

The story follows loser Takemichi Hanagaki whose life is the worst that can be. He works a job where a girl that is junior to him in age is his senior. He doesn’t have a purpose in life and is living aimlessly and he only ever had one girlfriend in life in middle school who was killed recently in a conflict by the Tokyo Manji Gang. You see where this is going don’t you ? Takemichi gains the power to time leap that is to transfer his current consciousness to his past body. Armed with this power Takemichi sets out to change his middle school life where he was a delinquent and save his girlfriend Tachibana Hinata. Coming into contact with the Tokyo Manji gang’s leaders, Takemichi learns that all is not as it seems and that the actions of his past will drastically affect the future. Aiming to stop the death of Hina by any means necessary, Takemichi begins a journey that will change him and his future and all those around him.

The characters are well written in Tokyo Revengers. The character development is slow but the characters stay true to their natures and personalities even as they change through the duration of the show. There’s our Crybaby Hero Takemichi Hanagaki. He’s back on a mission to save Hina and man his character feels so real to me. The trauma of his past of having always gotten beaten up gets to him so much that he’s always crying and yet he learns to push past the trauma. He still cries but he’s a hero even when he cries. There’s Tachibana Hinata, Takemichi’s middle school girlfriend and his support system, she’s the one who helps him keep going despite all the pain and failure that he faces. There’s Takemichi’s friends the Mizo Mid’s furious five who are real friends and always have Takemichi’s back. Then comes the leader of the Tokyo Manji Gang, Sano Manjiro aka the undefeatable Mikey, he’s an absolute powerhouse and his character is the most well written according to me. There’s the big brother of the group, Draken and a lot lot more characters who I do not want to spoil here.

The anime shines in how really it shows the delinquent world. Right from the get go from when we are introduce to Takemichi’s delinquent life in his middle school days we get to see how absolutely brutal they are when they fight, showing absolutely no mercy. There’s brutal fights which lead to some character’s being in a near death state but that’s not it, there’s crimes committed, even murders happen and it isn’t that it’s all good when they do it, these guys have to face the consequences by dealing with the police and also dealing with the mental and psychological stress, the guilt of their actions. There’s also the absolutely amazing opening that feels like it’s been composed just for the show and the great fights which make you question if these guys are even middle schoolers at all. There’s also Takemichi dealing with his past trauma which feels real and feels satisfying to watch him break through. While the story is serious and intense there are also fun moments that definitely help in the pacing of the show.

The lesson to draw from this manga is to never give up. Yeah, that’s the simple one that I’m taking out of this one. Never give up, like Takemichi because no matter how tough his opponents are, no matter how hard his battles are and no matter how many times he falls down he still gets back up and when he gets back up he knocks the opponent out cold. There’s also the lesson of not getting in to the delinquent life because if there’s anything to learn from this manga its that unlike the glamourized picturization of gangsters in the films, the real deal is much more dangerous and has consequences.

The finale while obviously not the end is obviously a nice place to end at according to me and as a manga reader who knows what is going to come next, I’m sure that Season 2 is going to be much more amazing and incredible. There’s also the fact that the anime is so faithful to the manga and while the animation is not the greatest Tokyo Revengers is still a great watch.

Rap section:

Going back to middle school living the delinquent life,
Acting tough and between gangs there’s strife,
With loud bikes and tough teens in this word are rife,
If things get hard ain’t afraid to use a knife.

Among all this Takemichi is using time travel,
Going to the past no he’s going into battle,
But he’s lost his toughness now he’s a bit fragile,
But the secret to Hina’s murder he’s gonna unravel.

It ain’t as simple as doing it once he’s gotta go do it again,
Many more times until he reaches the time when,
It’s a nice future yeah it’s a ten on ten,
But it isn’t gonna be easy when every fight is intense.

Joining up with Toman he stands by the strongest,
In each and every fight he’ll survive the longest,
He’s a part of the gang and if he’s being honest,
Calling them strong is just being modest.

DEMON SLAYER: EVERYTHING NEEDED TO MAKE A GOOD ANIME

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19. Demon Slayer has been on my list for quite a while now since I had been seeing a lot of memes about it. Needless to say I can understand the craze.

The show follows a simple boy Tanjiro Kamado who lives with his family in the mountains, one day when coming back after selling the coal in the city he comes home to a gruesome sight of his family murdered and his sister Nezuko turned into a demon, vowing to save her he runs into a demon slayer who after seeing the bond between Nezuko and Tanjiro lets them go. Training under an old man to learn total concentration breathing techniques as well as how to use a Katana, Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps to find the only demon who can turn humans to demons, Kibutsuji Muzan. Tanjiro meets Muzan briefly and swears to kill him and make him turn Nezuko back to human form. The show is mostly Tanjiro going on missions by the Demon Slayer Corps while earning the notice of the Pillars (the most elite of the Demon Slayers) and the man who runs the Demon Slayer Corps himself. Along the way he is joined by the cowardly Zenitsu who has a special talent of his own along with Inosuke the boy from the mountains who wears a boar mask.

The story is mostly action packed with quite a focus on despair and compassion. Tanjiro unlike other demon slayers feels compassion towards the ones he killed even wishing that they be reincarnated as humans once again. This very unlikely trait serves as a sort of closure to the demons that are slayed. My favourite part of the anime has got to be the training that Tanjiro goes through which sees him transform from a simple hardworking boy to a Katana wielding badass who has only one purpose in life. His care for his sister is what drives the story forward most of the times but he also has a sense of duty towards the Demon Slaying Corps and carrys out their missions with the utmost loyalty. Nezuko also has some badass moments of her own as do Zeintsu and Insouke. There is a lot of comedy to lighten the mood after each intense episode and there are also a few jokes placed in between the fights themselves. The character development is where the anime really shines because we see the motivation of each and every character, first Tanjiro thinks that he will take on Muzan and kill him all alone but that doesn’t happen because when he meets Muzan he sees just what kind of an enemy he is up against. The backstory of each and every character is beautifully crafted and we actually connect to them and their actions. Breathing plays an important role in the anime and I really love that because I know that breath is the basic of life and that when anything changes our breath changes so we can control our emotions by controlling our breath.

The animation is simply beautiful as each and every slice of the katanas are pleasing to look at and each and every special technique is also beautifully animated. The characters look phenomenal and the music that plays just puts it all together nicely. The ending ties in to the recently released movie which does deserve a review of its own but all I want to say about it is that it’s emotional and amazing. I think that the question I came up with from this anime is ‘What truly is a demon?’ and my answer is that it isn’t a creature that eats human flesh. A true demon is someone with no morals and ethics who will go to any length for their own selfish desires and as we see in the show sometimes demons can be humans and humans can be demons.

Rap Section:

Just a hardworking kid from a town no one knew,
My sister is very sick and it ain’t the flu,
My entire family a demon came and slew,
Got that natural charm and I’m building up a crew.

Got a purpose and now I’m trained with a katana,
My sister got red eyes like she high on marijuana,
I ain’t got no fear but there’s one thing I wanna,
Do and that is to makes things hotter than a sauna.

Learning concentration breathing flowing like the water,
Using special moves all of these demons I slaughter,
They think they can drown me but I fight best underwater,
I got a secret move that I once learnt from my father.

Allies and enemies everyone’s surrounded in mystery,
Found out these earrings I wear ain’t no accessory,
I’m never gonna lose all I strive for is victory,
Show me all the demons and I’ll make then history.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this.  Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. Seraph of the end manga – An epic continuation

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. For those of you that read my post on the anime you know that I loved it and the manga just makes things even better. MILD SPOILERS because seriously guys, read the manga.

The story is pretty simplistic like it was in the beginning only the anime is like the opening to the crazy stuff that happens later on. Just as a brief introduction as to what happens after the anime ends, (by the way it starts from volume 12 but I suggest reading Volume 11 cause some things in there are different.) So after the battle at Nagoya Airport Yu and his group desert the army and start living on the run. Yu’s demon Asuramaru starts running wild trying to take control of Yu and he is kept in control with special enchanted chains. As Yu keeps fighting against the demon, the Vampire Progenitor Council arrives in Japan, we get to see some more badass vampires enter the picture, even 2nd Progenitors come to join in on the fight. While this is happening Ferid Bathory, the pervert that we all love and hate comes up with a plan of his own and Kureto Hiragi decides to find out the secret of the Hiragi family and the truth about the experiment of the Seraph of the End. As the journey continues, the straightforward battle between humans and vampires comes to an end as there are now factions of humans and vampires combined also in the picture. As the secrets of the world and the Serpah of the End are revealed we see that the humans vs vampires fight was but a trifling matter.

Now to understand the story you not only need to understand the manga but also the Light Novels, they are three in number, Guren Ichinose’s Catastrophe at 16, Guren Ichinose’s World Resurrection at 19 and The story of Mikaela the Vampire. Out of these I was able to only source a few of the Catastrophe at 16 volumes (It also has a manga so you can go read that.) I managed to get Mikaela the Vampire and World Resurrection at 19 as well and I have to say, I understand why the story needed to be divided into these Light Novels, first off I love how the story is beautifully interwoven together with the ongoing manga. The Catastrophe at 16 story follows the story of Guren in high school with his two followers and school mates who later form up his squad in the manga. The ending is amazing with all the despair and anger that is in the manga being felt by the reader, this volume explains how the world ending Catastrophe took place and how Guren and Mahiru, his ex lover, a strategic genius, the creator of the cursed gear and a lot of other things, were involved. We get to see a younger Guren and his squad and I love that as well as how the mind games are played in the story. The story is Guren is extremely important if you want to truly understand his pain and struggles and the entire story.

The World Resurrection at 19 story tells of how after the Catastrophe, Guren and his squad form the Japanese Demon Army, the backstory of other characters who I won’t reveal the names of here (believe me I wanted to discuss manga scenes in the manga section of my blog but I absolutely can’t ruin this for potential readers). The Story of Mikaela the Vampire gives us a look into the backstory of the perverted and eccentric Ferid and the amazingly powerful Crowley. Seraph of the End always dived into demons and angels and religious wars and the story of Crowley shows us how it all started and why the Vampires play such a big role in humanity’s greed for the power of the Seraph of the End.

Humanity’s greed is the biggest factor in Seraph of the End or rather not humanity’s but greed as whole is a very big factor, the vampire’s greed for blood, the human’s greed for more power and to keep on living. The mentality of not accepting fate and fighting against it for greed of life the consequence of that is what Seraph of the End shows us. That greed will always, always lead us to ruin.

The manga is still going on and for a while I felt like the author has lost his way and wasn’t aware of what he was doing (because a lot and I mean a lot of crazy stuff happened) but I feel that the manga is on the right track now once I read the Light Novels and I absolutely recommend everyone who has watched the anime and needs more seraph of the end.

Kanata no Astra – Space adventure with lies

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. This is another anime that I’m guilty of being skeptical of but which turned out to be an excellent and well written adventure.

The story follows Aries Spring a cheerful high schooler in the year 2063, a time where space travel has become easy and commercially viable. Picked out for a special summer camp in which they are taken to a different planet. Planet McPa, a perfect place for the students to survive together and learn to bond with each other while also learning about surviving together. Aries meets with her team, Kanata, a carefree man who is fearless and jumps into danger. Genius Zach who has immense knowledge, Quitterie the usual unfriendly girl who cares about having the trip on her resume and her little sister, cheerful Funicia. Crafty Luca Esposito the son of a senator, quiet and all of Ulgar. Depressed and quiet girl Funhua and handsome and intelligent Charce. While at first glance these seem to be a ragtag team they are flung 5000 light years away from their home planet and have to work together to get back home. Stuck away from home while sinister plots lurk in the background, the crew aboard the Astra now needs to work together to get home.

The character development in the show is extremely well done and while it isn’t gradual like one would expect, it’s more episodic with each episode and encounter with different planets and species leading to the team members opening up about their pasts and insercurities and making up with them to grow and become closer to one another and even experience loss. There is talk of real stuff of parental love and affection and even death all while the group tries to remain cheery and return home. Kanata for example shows leadership and communication skills while Aries shows the will to bring everyone together.

The twists of this anime is where it really shines because even though it’s predictable as to what’s going to happen the show really throws good twists and turns which make the plot much more exhilarating and exciting for us to watch and enjoy and get engrossed in. The plot isn’t about the children getting through space with the power of friendship alone, it’s about plots that run in the background and lies that are greater than themselves. The world building is fairly well done with the steps being gradual and slowly making their way up with different planets, their rules and regulations and the life found on them. While initially I wanted to drop this anime because of its slow start I managed to get through to the third episode from which the thrill and suspense starts and things begun to get good. The comedy is fairly good in the show but that alone wouldn’t be able to carry it for the entire season and so I’m glad they added thrill and suspense to the mix. What I also loved was how the talk of science and technology didn’t confuse me because it’s rather difficult to make sci fi stuff without confusing the watchers but the show manages to balance it quite well.

That aside the themes of trauma and making up with your past is really big in this show because the characters are all connected in some way and we don’t know what until the very later parts of the show. While the real reason is very different the team is also bound through their own traumas which they must deal with like all humans need to and learn to accept their insecurities. Like I said earlier the change in characters is episodic with each episode dealing with different characters and different themes in general. Parental love, identity and all sorts of stuff. The lesson learnt is that in order to move forward you need to resolve your past, not cut ties with it. You need to come to terms with your identity and learn that you can’t control everything in life but that despite that you need to keep moving forward.

The pacing of the show according to me is extremely well done because they managed to adapt 5 volumes of a manga into 12 epsiodes and make it beautiful. The OP and Endings are cut out in certain episodes and the first last episodes are twice the length of the others but that makes it worth it so they can adapt it properly. With loads of comedy and thrill in the anime I make this a must watch for people who like sci fi stuff in general and for those who struggle with identity and past trauma. With the finale being, a perfect end to the pretty adventure that we were presented and every plot line being nearly tied up. Kanata no Astra is a great anime with no dull moments. Do check it out. Per aspera ad astra.

REVIEWING : BECOMING BULLETPROOF

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. Another great self help book that I loved and it’s from a secret service agent, you know you’re gonna get value when it’s from someone like that.

The book is divided into three parts with Evy talking about different things in each specific part with one being about protection of yourself and those around you, the second being about reading people and understanding lies and the 3rd, last part being about influence that is how to influence the people around you and how to know when you’re the one who’s being influenced and if you’re under the right kind of influence or not. The book is pretty straight forward with each chapter being about one specific skill or trick that you need to know about as Evy demonstrates the skill through her own experience as a secret service agent.

She tells about her own experience which make the book even better to read. She takes us to the 9/11 attack, assignments to protect the President and other important people as well as in interrogation rooms where she talks to everyone from a potential secret service candidate to terrorists. These examples from her own experiences are what makes us understand the book much much better than something with simply the descriptions of what we should and shouldn’t do, I’ll give a few examples of that right now.

My favourite part of the book was about lies, like I said I’m already fascinated with the mind and psychology and since I’m also working on a Wattpad story which is more on the psychotical story, it was a blast to see how to read through lies and what makes other people catch your lies. There’s one example whe during training Evy is supposed to spot the lie between two people talking about a trip to Egypt, both of them were perfect in their stories but she chose the second person as the liar, why ? She explained that the man when describing his experience at the pyramid of Giza said, “The entrance was here and the pillar would be there.” She said that the use of ‘would be’ suggests that he was assuming where the pillar was instead of describing where the pillar actually ‘was.’ This totally blew my mind and I immediately knew this would become my favourite section of the book.

There’s also the part about home safety and personal safety where by just telling the basic stuff Evy explains how we can protect ourselves. Sitting at a restaurant for example, you should sit with your back towards the wall so you don’t have to worry about an attack from behind. Another example is when you go to a place to look for an exit different from the way you came in because in case of an emergency people will most likely rush to the way they came in to get out and you don’t want to get in the rush.

Despite all the badass examples that are given in the book there’s one thing that Evy doesn’t forget to give us and that is the knowledge of when to use the tools she gives in the book and that is to serve. The Bhagavad-gita tells that service the very nature of the soul and for that we need to grow ourselves and our minds so we can serve in our lives. That’s what Evy talks about in the book, service is the most important thing in life.

All these examples and more are what makes Becoming Bulleproof a phenomenal book whether it’s for teenagers like me who just want to know about the experiences of a secret service agent, a businessman who wants to make sure that he influences his clients correctly, someone who works to spot lies that their co workers tell them or a parent who wants to keep their home and children safe. A must read for everyone no matter what part of the world you’re from, Becoming Bulleproof is a book for everyone.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this.  Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram and Twitter with your thoughts and if you have any ideas on what I should write about. Stay safe from the COVID-19. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

Solo Leveling: The greatest manhwa

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. I’ve been getting in manga and manhwa lately and this was one of the first I read and man, I’ve been sleeping on some good stuff. It’s really good and I started reading when it was at around chapter 147 so I’m no OG but I loved it. SPOILERS, mostly visuals and me running my mouth but still SPOILERS.

The story of the manhwa is extremely simple. There have been portals called ‘gates’ appearing all over the world at the same time specific people ‘awakened’ to having superpowers. Having more endurance, strength, agility, these characteristics allowed them to step inside the gates and battle monsters inside. The gates and the monsters as well as the awakened all give off ‘mana’ readings which allows them to use their magic skills. Now that the world has turned into a RPG with the awakened being called ‘Hunters’ and hunting has become a real job which pays depending on which rank you are from E to S, there is one specific hunter who is out protagonist. Hunter Sung Jin Woo, labelled, ‘The Weakest Hunter of Humanity’ by his fellow hunters steps into an E rank dungeon which turns out to be a double dungeon. Risking going inside the squad is mercilessly massacred all while Sung Jin Woo tries to find an escape. He passes out inside the dungeon awakening to find hismelf in a hospital with a game like ‘System’ that claims that he has not become a ‘Player’. Messing around with the system, Jin Woo figures out that the System wants him to get stronger and Level Up for a purpose. Pledging to get stronger he trains with the system guiding him, levelling up all while dealing with the world politics, the price of becoming strong and learning more about the monsters and their world. What seems to be random events all link up when Sung Jin Woo comes into the picture as a greater threat looms over the world.

The manhwa has really straight forward characters for the most part, with them being fun and easy to remember though some are really unforgettable. One of these is Thomas Andre, an American Hunter who is really really strong, he comes in for a major plot point and I absolutely loved his carefree and arrogant attitude. There’s Sung’s very own sister Jjnha whom he absolutely adores and she’s the character which allows down things a bit after the greatest action scene. The cast is really vast and I’m glad this is a manhwa because I wouldn’t have been able to remember the characters without their faces. All characters are well written and fleshed out with good backstories for heroes and villans alike. They’re all having their own powers and their own personalities and they stay loyal to them making it interesting to read.

The art is where the manhwa really really shines. It’s absolutely beautiful to look at and the way it flows is really like you’re watching an anime. The fight scenes are well drawn with the intensity of the fights clearly visible along with the sheer OPness of Sung Jin Woo with his dodges and skills. The system which appears also doesn’t make the panels cluttered but rather blends in well. The colouring is beautiful and vibrant with, dark colours being used for the fights and bright ones for the cities and characters making a really good scene to look at. Another way it stands out is with its game like features with Jin Woo getting stats which he boosts, a mana meter which depletes along with an HP bar, he checks weapon’s DPS and their perks as well as has unique skills like, ‘The Commander’s Touch’ and others.

Seriously, tell me that this isn’t lit art.

The lesson I pulled from the manhwa is ‘keep moving forward’, no matter how many times Sung Jin Woo has to face dire situations which he absolutely cannot get out of, no matter how many times he has to face enemies tougher than him, he simply keeps moving forward with a bright face and takes down his enemies one by one. He has absolute confidence in his skills and shows it when he once says, “I’ll swallow the system whole.” Just like real life, we may not have to face monsters and face end of the world scenarios but we have our own battles which we must fight and keep moving forward.

The manhwa is still ongoing and it’s not going to be stopping anytime soon I know that for sure, I’m on chapter 154 at the time of writing and the good stuff is just getting started. A total underdog story of Zero to Hero, amazing fights and great visuals combined with an incredibly well crafted out story, Solo Leveling is the right manhwa to get you started.

Rap section:

Portals opened in our world and now people becoming hunters,
With their super powers the awakened ones perform wonders,
Have to clear out the gates properly there can’t be any blunders,
Or the monsters are gonna break through and appear in our world in clusters.

Low level dungeon but inside strikes calamity,
Trying to go in the double dungeon was the wrong mentality,
Can’t even describe the scene what occured was brutality,
Once called the Weakest Jin Woo now might be the last hope of humanity,

Inside the dungeon he gained a power unique,
Backed by the system he’s aiming for the peak,
He’s leveling up by going on a killing streak,
The only thing he has from before is the Courage of the Weak.

Armed with his daggers he appears to enemies like Thanatos,
Leveling up more than needed because the man knows,
That a greater threat is coming to take everyone to the gallows,
Villan like look and Savior of the world he’s the Monarch of Shadows.

Kuroko no basket – Basketball and friendship

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. I may be a bit biased to this anime because I already like basketball but I think that this was an amazing first sports anime to watch. SPOILERS AHEAD. They won’t affect your viewing much but it’s good at put the warnings.

The show starts with telling us about the Teiko middle school basketball club with an impressive record of many wins. Even in that impressive record there was a five man lineup known as the Generation of Miracles whose skills were said to be of a level greater than any other that the school or the entire world had ever seen. The five man lineup spilt after middle school and they all went on to different high schools go play for new teams. There was a rumour that even among the Generation of Miracles there was a phantom sixth man who wasn’t as noticed in the sports magazines but he was a player nevertheless. At Seirin High School the basketball team has two new recruits, a student who has just come back America named Kagami Taiga and a man with barely any presence Kuroko Tetsuya. Though initially skeptical of Kuroko the team soon realizes that though he isn’t good at dribbling or shooting his real skills is his lack of presence, a skill known as Misdirection which allows him to be hidden on the court and make impossible passes and steals. Forming a duo basketball style using Taiga’s power and Kuroko’s misdirection Seirin High decides to become the best team in Japan by taking on all the former players of the Generation of Miracles.

The characters are so good and memorable as well as well written with their own struggles and their own ways of growing throughout the series. We have Kuroko Tetsuya, the phantom sixth man whose passing is extreme because he has barely any presence on the court. Kagami Taiga is a student returned from America who is a powerful beast and everything that a basketball player aspires to be. Kuroko calls himself a shadow, a supporter and Taiga becomes his light leading to them becoming a duo which can crush teams. Then there are the generation of miracles, Kise Ryota, model and Copycat who can copy anyone’s skills. Midorima Shintaro who can shoot high threes and never miss, Aomine Daiki who is the best scorer and never feels anyone can challenge him. Then we have Murasakibara the tall defender whose reflexes are very fast. Then there is Captain Akashi Seijuro who has an Emperor’s Eye which can predict movements. Then there’s Teiko manager Momoi who can predict how players will grow. Along with these there are Serin’s team of Junpei Hyuga, Kiyoshi Teppi, Mitobe and lots and lots more.

The show is intense and serious when the basketball gets going and the games are like watching a real match but in slow motion so that we can view all the epic moves pulled off by the players. Some may call the skills unrealistic but high threes and movement prediction aren’t things that are uncommon in basketball. It’s dramatic and the music is what makes it seem unreal but it is very real. The show is comedic too with all the players having a bond with their team which helps to keep pace and not keep a constantly intense pace.

The thing that should be taken from this anime is the philosophy of life that is taught through the light and shadow philosophy that Kuroko and Taiga share. The philosophy actually shows that everyone had their own part to play in the game and in life. Every team needs all five players to complete a team and everyone needs to play their own positions. Everyone needs to understand their position in life and one shouldn’t feel that their position is inferior to someone, Kuroko doesn’t feel the need to be noticed by the people because all he wants is to love basketball and play the game. It’s also about not being crippled by loss but getting up, each loss is just cutting your teeth to be more predatory in the next match and that’s what Seirin High’s team shows, losing and them improving and them winning .

The anime is overall a really good sports anime, it isn’t like any other anime I’ve seen before so I liked it and one doesn’t need too much knowledge of basketball before watching the anime. The ending of the anime shows reconcilation and love for basketball being the main theme along with the movie. From my point of view this anime should be for someone who wants to watch sports and friendship and not someone who wants action and thrillers. The anime is long so consider that before you watch it but do watch it if you want to watch some intense basketball.

Rap section:

Teiko middle school Generation of Miracles,
Winning is everything no other principles,
Making basket as easy as counting syllables,
Too good at the game should be considered criminals.

Split after middle school going up against each other,
Without each other new things they discover,
Practicing too hard working their muscles rougher,
Five man lineup but there was another.

Kuroko Tetsuya phantom sixth man of the team,
So hidden on the court that it may seem,
You’re not watching a match but a dream,
Not good at playing but his passing is extreme.

Teaming up with Taiga he’s taking on his old crew,
Got so many heavy passes that only a few,
Can catch and make the basket that’s true,
Duo style basketball ever team they’re gonna subdue.

DEATH PARADE: JUDGEMENT, DEATH AND LIFE

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. This anime is something I’ve slept on for a long time but after watching it, I’m glad I did, it was fun. SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 1 AHEAD.

The show features a bar known as Quindecim, a place in the afterlid where people who die at the same time arrive in order to be judged by playing a game. The twist is that the games themselves create extreme situations drawing out the inner darkness in people’s hearts and then either sending them to be reincarnated or into the void. Decim, the bartender is an arbiter who judges the souls that are sent to his bar. He is joined by an unnamed woman who will now be an assistant to him, the girl who is later revealed to be names Miyuki works with Decim to understand how complex humans are and how they are judged. Things unaware to both Decim and Miyuki run in the background as everyone grapples with emotions and finds out if there is a way to judge differently.

The characters are definetly fun to watch with Decim being your emotionless and no bullshit bartender who focuses on the job. Miyuki is a strong willed and idealistic girl who despite acting as Decim’s assistant constantly rebels against his ideas and teaches him about human emotion. There’s also Nona, the head arbiter of the place where Decim works. Then there’s Ginti, another arbiter who believes in passing quick judgement but is later on puzzled by the emotions that human show. There’s also the numerous guests that show up, with everyone being fun and interesting characters with complex backstories of their own. All the characters come together to weave a nice story that is fun to watch and emotional at the same time.

The particular reason that I believe the show shines is not it’s good animation and beautiful colours not the good music which I am always so in love with. It’s the fact that with death they can tell such a beautiful story, the complexity of humans and yet their simplicity. How people of total opposite characters work together and agree on things even when they come from totally opposite perspectives. The creators manage to make the show fun and at the same time really dark and something to think about.

Regret after dying, and the complexities of humans the main themes of the show. While the show works to show us how much people regret what they’ve done in their lives, the ‘darkness’ that Decim claims to draw out is shown to be in every human who is desperate enough. It is because we don’t have an anchor that keeps us tied down to our humanity that we perform henious acts. We regret only after we have done something in our desperation and the only way to avoid that it is to make sure that we have our own anchors that tie us down to humanity. The way to deal with regret is to not perform the act in the first place and if not that then moving on with repentance is the only way. If there truly is a Quindecim which judges us after our deaths then I think we must work to be the best versions of ourselves here so that we can be good people even in our judgement.

While certainly not a masterpiece, Death Parade is a fun anime to watch with 12 episodes and one OVA. While certainly not suited for a mindless binge, it is a fun show to watch which will give you a lot to think about after you finish. A must watch for everyone who is fascinated with philosophy and death.

Rap section:

Take it to the afterlife Quindecim is the bar,
People of all varieties visiting from afar,
But aside from serving drinks it serves a purpose bizarre,
Decim is the bartender the show’s superstar.

Dead people come in pairs and judgement he’s passing,
Each new guest is the one before surpassing,
Dealing with emotions don’t have time for laughing,
Because out in the world the dead are amassing.

Joined by a new girl she’s now his assistant,
But to learn about the guests she’s persistent,
Against the cruel methods of judgement she’s resistant,
But it ain’t so simple people’s minds are twisted.

Aside from all the craziness deeper runs the plot,
Can’t slack off he’s got to give it all he got,
To do it as he wants to he’s only got one shot,
To remember the people that otherwise he’s forgot.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this.  Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram and Twitter with your thoughts and if you have any ideas on what I should write about. Stay safe from the COVID-19. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

Study Group – Fighters trying to study

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. I think that manhwa’s should get animated as well because man, these things are amazing. SPOILERS for the first few episodes.

The story is set in Incheon in the school of Yusong Vocational Engineering High, around the new kid, 17 year old Gamin Yoon, while Gamin tells his story he reveals that he has always been bad at academics and yet still dreams of entering university due to something that happened in his past. The problem is that Yusong High is a school for future criminals, the students who are good at fighting there are recruited as members of a gang known as White Lead and the children of the executives of the gang also go to Yusong High. The school has a carnivorous environment with fights always breaking out and students being the least interested in studying, determined to study Gamin Yoon starts finding children who according to him have the ‘Will enter university vibe’ or are interested in studying. While doing this he clashes with the White Lead gang who want the school to remain as it is. Together with his teacher Hankyung Lee, Gamin sets out to form his study group to increase his grades all while the White Lead comes after him bringing all sorts of troubles.

The characters are fun and all have their personalities and backstories that give much needed depth and motivations. Their names though are quiet hard, there’s obviously our main character Gamin Yoon who faces the most difficulty out of all the characters because he is impulsive and always rushes in without a care for himself, his character arc is seriously amazing with him sticking to his morals while also growing and developing. There’s the teacher Hankyung Lee, who simply wants to teach her students to be better people and is also there to settle an old score while aiming to change Yosung High. There’s Sehyun Kim aka Weak Spikey who goes through his beautiful character arc where he learns to get out his self pity and become better, to not blame his circumstances. There’s Jiwoo Lee who joins in after certain events, her character arc is about caring for others no matter the price. Lee Jun, Chilly Sauce according to Jiwoo, who is in with Gamin Yoon for his own personal reasons he is all about learning to be strong. Then we have Heewon Choi, the one with the least character development except in the beginning episodes (hope she plays a major role in season 2) and we have mysterious boy Genyonb who has revenge as his reason for getting inoled in the story and acts as a secondary main character. Lastly, Hanwool Phi, the main antagonist at least for season 1, absolutely cunning and ruthless, the fact that he got his own backstory just shows how much effort is put into each character. And these are just the people whose names aren’t much difficult and are introduced in the first few episodes of the manhwa. Study Group has a wide variety of characters all with their own personalities and stories.

The webtoon has the strong point in its mysterious aura that it gives off, there’s great action to enjoy of course but even at the end of the season, the mystery of the case that started the events of the story isn’t completely solved but rather we get more questions. The manhwa also does a good job by showing us one confusing scene and then taking us to the past which does a good job of keeping things mysterious. The action is amazing with lots of combat techniques shown in the story, I don’t know how many seriously work but the combat is amazing, it isn’t just always increasing the number of guys or anything like that, instead there are different skills and different types of fighters involved with each fight and the stakes are the only things that rise. There’s also the fact that they show the characters to face real consequences for their actions and not get away with anything.

The lesson that I drew from this manhwa has to be, ‘Create opportunities despite the circumstances’ which is a line that Gamin says though a bit modified. The manhwa puts our characters in situations where they just don’t have to have physical strength but mental willpower as well, psychological warfare may not be a big part of the story but it does play a significant part. The circumstances that the characters are in at first seem impossible to get out of and then they fight, through mental resilience they find new ways out of the situations and they create opportunities, kind of like life, where you must create opportunities despite what position you are in.

The manhwa has just finished its first season with only 118 chapters so this is the best time to jump on and completely catch up because the new season will be dropping at the end of July which is really close. The ending satisfies the arc that started at the beginning of the story but the epilogue shows new villans entering the story and Gamin himself tells us that the story of his trip to university isn’t over yet. With amazing action and great lessons, Study Group is an amazing manhwa

Rap section:

Yusong Vocational Enginerring High coming in hot,
Tough new kid with glasses but he’s not,
Here to fight and even if he does he don’t want to be caught,
He’s here to enter university this is his only shot.

This is Gamin Yoon and he’s here to cause a change,
Gonna get smacked if you do evil deeds in his range,
He’s crazy strong but he’s got a dream strange,
A peaceful life at school he’s here to arrange.

Going up against gangs that’s a task easy,
Here to take down all the bullies sleazy,
Unleashes his full power and now we see,
His strength like that of a hero cheesy.

He’s only here to study not here to put a show,
But if you hurt his friends then it’s a different story though,
He’s a beast when he’s angry and busts out forbidden techniques so,
You better be careful of this user of Jeet Kun Do.

BACCANO: MAFIA AND IMMORTALITY

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. I was really skeptical about this anime in the first few minutes but once I pushed through the first episode I understood that this is a great anime. SPOILERS AHEAD.

The story follows 3 different perspectives through different years and how the different characters come together and interact and get entangled with each other. In the year 1711 a few alchemists went abroad a ship and gained the ‘Cure All Elixir’ a drink which can help people be immune to wounds and prevent aging. This knowledge leads to greed aboard the ship and the Immortals all decide to split up. Years later in 1931, the Immortals meet each other again aboard an Intercontinental train known as the Flying Pussyfoot. Aboard this train people who weren’t involved earlier in the mess with the immortals also get pulled in and criminals who are there for different purposes also clash for control of the train and for fulfillment of their goals. Back in the city in 1930, a complete version of the ‘Cure All Elixir’ keeps changing hands due to the Mafia and a duo of idiotic thieves. All these events make completely unrelated people clash in a bottle for survival and selfish gain while some have the sinsiter motive of immortality, others are simply fighting without knowing the deeper plot that moves underneath.

The show has a wide cast of characters from Firo who is a prodigy in fighting and a Mafia man under the tutelage of Maiza who is related to the original incident aboard the ship in 1711, then we have the idiotic duo of thieves Issac and Miria who are responsible for most of the misunderstandings and the things that go wrong in the show because they want to steal and live together but don’t have the brains to pull off a good heist. There’s the Runoarto, the Martillos and the Gandor crime families who are engaged in a turf war against one another while slowly understanding that some of the problems they have aren’t caused by each other but by outside elements like Silizard who wants his ‘Cure All Elixir’. There’s Ennis who is a killer created by Silizard and there’s Dallas Genoard, the delinquent thug of the Genoard family and a person who’s much sought after by the Mafia. There’s Jacuzzi and Nice, lovers and partners in crime and their underlings. Aside from there there are still a wide array of characters who are all motivated by different things and backstories. Even though we aren’t shown much of a baskstory of many characters, their current actions show their personalities and motivations so well that we can do without them.

The show really shines and stands out in ints complex storytelling with the constantly switching perspectives keeping the thrill going and allowing us to not forget the characters that are introduced before. The constant switch between the years can be a bit confusing but if you keep your eyes peeled you can understand what time it is easily by seeing the setting and the people who are alive. The violence is a good part of the anime and the fights are interesting and die to a few of the characters being immortal, it doesn’t shy away from gore and torture, showing us bloodied bodies and cut up body parts. The comedy is really amazing as even serious characters sometimes do things which led to comical moments which relieve the tension forms few moments only to make us jump right back in. The supernatural element is something that I liked but somethings are there which are considered supernatural at first but are revealed to be not so.

The show really talks about immortality and the vices of humanity, we all don’t desire death, disease and old age but we have to go through them anyway but as shown in the show even after achieving immortality the alchemists aren’t fulfilled, they are on the quest for more knowledge and more sensations, this is what is perfectly described in the Vedas as, even if someone manages to gain immortality he still isn’t fulfilled because that is the rule of the world. The vices of humanity that is the constant desire to satisfy ones never ending desire are shown and even after living for hundreds of years the immortals can’t seem to be able to satisfy their desires because desires are endless as long as we are in this world. The takeaway is that immortality is a curse that binds to forever to this world and that our desires are never fulfilled.

The pacing of the story is great and if you pay attention you can easily figure out the story which is left incomplete and I will be getting into the Light Novels to complete it soon. The finale is fulfilling but leaves things unfinished leaving all the characters looking forward to something or the other. The show is overall a must watch with your utmose attention because every scene is thrilling and every fight is exciting and every dialogue in important to understanding the complex story that is BACANNO.

Rap section:

1711 alchemists all aboard a ship,
Going with a purpose not just a fun trip,
The secret of immortality in their grip,
People getting greedy so to 1930 let’s skip.

A bunch of criminals all on the same train,
Split up Immortals now meeting again,
Who’s on which side it’s hard to explain,
All we know is that this isn’t gonna be a ride mundane.

1931 Immortals are still hunting,
Their perfect elixir and Mafia are confronting,
Their enemies fighting in the streets grunting,
These people are bound all by something.

Among this cast a duo is having fun,
Immortals standing tall Mafia can’t kill them with a gun,
It’s a bad game and now the hunt has begun,
To fix that mistake which can’t be undone.

Thinking fast and slow: A book review

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. Another amazing book I’m glad to have spent my time on. Let’s get into Thinking Fast and Slow.

The human mind interests me greatly, I love reading about psychology and illusions and mentality and all those different things but this book right off the bat was different from the others, you can feel it right from the start. The book talks about the different strategies that marketers use to make us buy their products and the strategies that they should use to make us buy more as well as how we should avoid being pulled into these illusions that our mind creates.

First off the book divides the mind itself into two parts, two selves, two characters. One is System 1, responsible for all the reflexive activities that we do, activities that don’t need us to put in thought and effort. Then there’s the System 2, the self that puts in thought and effort. The best way to discriminate is ‘What’s the answer to 2+2 ?’ and ‘What is 13 X 27?’ Both are mathematical questions but you put in more effort in one than the other. You intuitively know that 2+2 will be 4 but you don’t know the answer to 13 X 27. It’s a difficult problem so you might even need pen and paper to solve it. The answer coming to your mind instantly is from System 1 while working the problem out is System 2. When you reflexively do something, marketers take advantage of that decision of you not thinking carefully while when you tend to overthink things with your System 2 they take advantage of that fear. Either way the book will give you amazing tips to avoid them both.

The two things that I’m going to talk about that I liked from the book are ‘The sunk cost bias’ and ‘Keeping Score’. The sunk cost bias talks about how we are biased towards something just because we have put money into it or not even money anything like time, effort. An example would be buying a Treadmill and keeping it in your house. You don’t use it but you don’t want to sell it because you believe that you need it still but you don’t because you don’t use it nor will you ever, it’s just going to be kept there. Another example can be showing your support for a band or something else and when they’re caught in a controversy you defend them regardless of whether they’re right or wrong in that matter. This is sunk cost bias, you want something to continue just because you have spent time, money or some asset into it.

Next is keeping score. It’s a fairly easy term to understand, it’s self explanatory that is it’s keeping score of the things in life. An example provided would be that you have two stocks in your portfolio that you need to sell, both are of the same value. One is now lower than the price at which you bought it and the other is higher. A normal person being emotional would close the one with the profit since they won’t like to close at a loss. A trader would know that the winning stock would go up more and the losing would go down more and it would be a better choice to close down the losing stock to prevent further losses. This is something that can be done in relationships and friendships like keeping score of all the times you’ve helped your friend and the times they’ve helped you. That emotional connect to losses and wins is what leads you down the wrong path.

All in all you can read the book from two perspectives, from the perspective of a consumer and the perspective of a seller both sides gain immensely from the book and as someone who read it as a consumer and someone who is fascinated with the human mind I loved the book and recommend it to all. Whether you read it to improve your business, for knowing more about economics or because you want to know about neurology, it’s a must read.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this.  Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram and Twitter with your thoughts and if you have any ideas on what I should write about. Stay safe from the COVID-19. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

When they cry – Mysteries and lots of murder

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. This anime was a hell of a watch, just so much to see and remember, it was a great journey and since SOTSU is on the way this is the perfect time to review it. SPOILERS AHEAD.

The show is set in the rural village of Hinamizawa, a quiet and calm place, perfect for the setting of a slice of life anime (as if). Keichi Maebara, a new kid in town along with his friends, Sonozaki Mion, Ryuugu Rena, Satoko Hojou and Rika Furude is trying to prepare for and enjoy the Cotton Drifting Festival of the village. Soon enough things start to go south as Keichi discovers that a man was murdered in the town and since then every year one person dies and another disappears during the time of the Cotton Drifting festival, this phenomena is dubbed Oyashiro-Sama’s curse by the villagers as they believe that their residing deity, Oyashiro-Sama is killing the villagers who are traitors to the village and are planning to leave. The show follows Keichi and his friends in a time loop, unaware but stuck trying to find out the identity of the killer, the truth behind the curse of Oyashiro-Sama.

The characters in the show are extremely lovable, Keichi who is the new kid is shown to be stubborn and headstrong while Mion is shown to smart and deceptive, Rena with her obsession of cute things really steals the spotlight and makes for good comedy. Satoko and her pranks and Rika’s Ni-paa’s all make fore good comedic antics. There are also other, more evil characters such as Ooishi, the policeman who at first seems to be a good guy and then a jerk and then at last a good guy again. The vast majority of the characters go through much character development as we see their mistakes and their values and how they’re changed and molded into better ones all while it culminates into them becoming better people and to be prepared for their final battle.

The journey spans two seasons originally with one season setting up the mystery and other solving it. The original season and then Kai (which means answers) are both meant to be watched in succession to make for the full mystery and its answer. Gou on the other hand is a sequel of its own, having a story that at first seems to be the same as the first season but then deviates off into its own story which has its answers coming out in SOTSU. The show has some intense action and gore, and while I am not the biggest fan of gore I actually liked it at points just because of how much the brutality showed the personality of the character. I also loved how everything added up into one neat bundle and how nothing was wasted and every lose end was tied up. A perfect blend of science fiction and supernatural, When they cry is simply amazing with its story telling, the action is perfect to hype you up and the comedy is a nice change of pace.

The thing that should be taken from the anime is that despair is never the answer, no matter how hard things get and how much the odds seem like the odds are stacked against you, you need to keep going and keep attacking the problem from different angles, using different strategies, taking help from more people, until you finally succeed. The show shows from its time loop mechanism that how nothing is wasted, how every effort that you put in, will in the end bring results.

The anime is overall a really interesting watch. You might be very very confused with the time looping at first but after the first season you finally understand what is going on and that will only drive you more to finish the second season. I personally didn’t like Gou for the simple reason that with the original two seasons, the time loop does give more room for creativity and new content but the story was finished in the first two seasons and I didn’t like jumping into a sequel which is the same at first and a bore to get through to the good parts. My point is that you can stop at just the original and Kai, its a perfect ending and very very satisfying, but if you want more When They Cry content then go right ahead and watch Gou and SOTSU which is now ongoing. A thrilling adventure filled with comedy, romance, friendship, action and lots and lots of murder, When They Cry is not for the weak hearted but is a must watch for the viewers who want a well thought out mystery and can stomach the gore.

Rap section:

Let’s shift to the quiet Hinamizawa village,
Of a nice and calm town it gives the image,
But dark secrets lurk underneath not many have the privelege,
To see who behind the scenes is actually the villan.

Maebara Keichi loudmouth new boy,
With his friends at school just tryna enjoy,
The festival of the village which is just a decoy,
For the dark methods that the people employ.

Teaming with his friends aiming to be free,
Of the village’s mystery and murder spree,
But he’s got a role to fulfill to guarantee,
To solving the mystery of this village he’s the key.

Murders happen each time then the loop reset,
Everything seems normal but one of them doesn’t forget,
Of not having caught the killer at that time regret,
Playing against each other in a 100 year old bet.

High Rise Invasion – A manga discussion

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. I’m thinking of starting this new series where I’ll be discussing manga in depth. It won’t be like my anime reviews where I keep spoilers to a minimum. These are going to be FILLED WITH SPOILERS.

I was excited about what happened after the story of the anime ended so I picked up the manga and boy does it have some good scenes. They will be fun to watch animated. That aside here I’m going to be talking about the manga after the plot of the anime ends. That is after Honjo Yuri defeats the Great Archangel and subdues his power.

The character development is where the manga really flourishes this time around as before we saw each of the characters turning from scared newbies into hardened survivalists and now a battle for the skills of survival has started that is the battle against Aikawa for Honjo Rika. Yuri Honjo develops to become a stronger being for the world and to rebel against it like before and Rika and Sniper Mask show the truth about their vow of being cool. We see Aikawa’s true nature and the reason of the existence of the world out characters are in.

Let’s talk about the Great Archangel Vs Angry Mask scenes. That alone showed us how much the sense of justice drives Archangel and though it is comical at first, when we see why he truly does that it turns out to be extremely sad. The reality we see when he is revealed to be a sick kid who didn’t have any power in the real world turns him into a twisted kind of justice fighter believing that everything that stands against him is justice simply because he is one who was wronged and was the underdog in the real world. They resolve his storyline properly by leading him to come to terms with his condition and realizing that he needs to read the situation before deciding who is on the side of Justice. That fight also shows us Yuri’s nature of not leaving teammates behind because even though she knows that he would have attacked her if he were deployed against her, she still wants to save him showing her true nature, the nature to rebel against what she doesn’t like.

The Rika Vs Sniper Mask fight was the best ever, I was kinda confused when I saw that panel at the back of the volume saying, “When siblings clash in the battlefield where only the strong survive.” I thought that it was referring to a Yuri Vs Rika but the real curveball is that Yu and Rika are revealed to be blood brothers. This really releases all the tension that has been building up surrounding Sniper Mask and pitting the brothers against each other really is a good fight for them to see how they have grown and how they have become what they are.

I felt that the Administrator’s appearance was kind of rushed since he could have very well taken control of a mask to talk to Aikawa but he didn’t and instead chose the old man. I guess you could call it not forgetting the characters but it was kind of lame. That aside Aikawa’s death was an emotional one not because we connect with the character which I personally didn’t even after knowing his backstory. It’s because he sets Rika free and shows faith that if his philosophy is true then Rika will carry it forward.

The fight between Juo and Rika does show brotherly love but in the end I believe and he (like the Prophet) was more of a way to get Yoshida the final code and have the Administrator take him over. Juo also provided little for Rika’s character development since the Angry Mask interrupts them before Rika can take a heavy decision.

The final fight, Administration Vs Yuri Honjo is the second greatest fight according to my opinion in the series simply because it is too short. I liked the Great Archangel Vs Angry Mask fight much better but that aside. I loved how Yuri completely three away everything for the power needed to defeat the Administrator not caring that she would lose her life in the process or that she was facing a man who was once an ally (i.e. Yoshida.) The sheer scale and intensity of the fight is enough to give you chills even if you’re not seeing it animated. The ending is still dark since it resigns Yuri to a heavy fate of keeping the world in check and also Kuon while there is hope it is ultimately saddening to see Yuri rebel against the world until the very end only to learn that saving others was her true motive and that she would give up revelling against the world if it meant saving her friends. A really good quality.

All in all I think that High Rise Invasion Manga really handled things well with all of the characters giving valuable lessons, Yuri teaching to care for others before yourself, Rika teaching to make the best of your situation, Kuon and Nise teaching to be supportive and not be sad that you’re not the no. 1. And lastly Sniper Mask, he teaches us to live a cool life. That will be all please recommend me more manga which I can go in depth and analyse and until then, keep learning and keep growing.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this.  Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram and Twitter with your thoughts and if you have any ideas on what I should write about. Stay safe from the COVID-19. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

BURNING KABADDI – INTENSE AND THRILLING

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. I was so hyped when I found out that there was an anime about Kabaddi and man this anime hits all the right spots.

The story follows Yoigoshi, a football prodigy in middle school, earning the name of ‘Yoigoshi the unstoppable’, who has just entered Noukin High school, due to his intense skill at the game, his teammates developed jealousy and envy towards him. Now in high school, Yoigoshi swears to quit sports and instead do livestreaming to pass his time. He is interrupted by Azemichi a Kabaddi club represent who was asked by his seniors to bring Yoigoshi to the club to try out the sport. Playing a few matches and getting dragged into signing up for the club Yoigoshi discovers that he isn’t as good of a Kabaddi player as he was a soccer player. As he is joined by others in the team, he decides to keep playing Kabaddi, getting stronger and becoming a better player, aiming for the nationals.

The characters are really fun and comedic in the show with each of them having their own little character arcs as they develop throughout the course of the show. There’s Yoigoshi who looks down on Kabaddi initially before getting motivated to become the strongest raider in the team. Azemichi, a defender and raider in the team who has a pure heart and wants to help others grow as he learns his own place in the team. There’s Misumi who is devastated after his defeat in the first tournament and learns that dwelling in pity isn’t the thing go do and instead rises up and trains. There’s the captain Ojo who is the very embodiment of a Kabaddi player who loves the sport and respects it. The vice captain Iura who learns to make his mark on the players that he plays against. There are countless other characters who contribute to the story with all of them having different viewpoints on Kabaddi and getting stronger.

The anime has some good animation and I don’t really talk about animation much but man every match, every movement and every touch is just so amazing to watch. The way the word struggle comes onto screen when a touch happens, the way the chains appear around defenders as they make chains it’s all amazing. The sheer intensity and pacing of the anime is brilliant as well with each episode having its own funny and light moments it when the match starts it gets real. The matches are fun to watch and will keep you at the edge of your seat and leave you wanting more.

Get stronger. No matter what happens just keep moving forward, that’s what this anime is all about, that’s what Kabaddi is all about. It’s an Indian sport so I’ve played a few matches myself and they are intense, you’ll get tackeled, touched and you’ll kiss the ground more often than you can count but what makes it all worth it, is that you can always come back from each loss and move forward. That’s life too, you’ll have some pretty hard falls but that doesn’t mean it’s over, you can always come back stronger. That’s the mindset of sports especially contact sports like Kabaddi which have many rounds, you can’t get discouraged with just one loss, there’s an entire game left to play.

The ending of the show kind of reminds me of Kuroko No Basket but that’s for every sports anime. The show is to be continued but the last episode shows the team gearing up with one goal in mind, “Become Number 1 in Japan.” With that I can’t wait to see more of this show and read ahead by getting the manga but all that said and done. I really recommend this show to everyone whether you’re a sports enthusiast or not.

Rap section

Take it to Noukin High with a soccer prodigy,
Cynical and a jerk he’s got a different ideology,
But when he goes on the court he’s a monstrosity,
This is Yoigoshi and the start of his odyssey.

He might be a monster but he’s given up the courts,
Ans that’s all because he’s fed up with sports,
Because of his boredom he’s chosen this course,
When he gets excited he’s of nature a force.

He’s not prepared to do it but he’s forced to try out,
For the Kabaddi club so that no one knows about,
His true identity as a streamer throughout,
The school and so he’ll take this route.

Looking down on the sport from up above,
Brash and arrogant he’s gotts become the best raider of,
The team so he can rediscover his love,
For sports and Kabaddi or lack thereof.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this.  Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram and Twitter with your thoughts and if you have any ideas on what I should write about. Stay safe from the COVID-19. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

Aoi Bungaku: Literary masterpieces animated.

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. I have so so many things to say about this anime. First off SPOILERS. not really major ones but still SPOILERS.

Aoi Bungaku is a beautiful anime. This series is comprised of adaptations of 6 modern classics in Japanese literature which are Osamu Dazai’s No Longer Human (Ningen Shikkaku), Run, Melos! (Hashire, Melos!), Natsume Soseki’s Kokoro, Ryunosuke Akutagawa’s Hell Screen (Jigoku Hen) , The Spider’s Thread (Kumo no Ito), and Ango Sakaguchi’s In the Forest, Under Cherries in Full Bloom (Sakura no Mori no Mankai no Shita). This review is going to different as I’m not going to describe the story of each rather I’m going to talk about Run, Melos and some of the other values I got from the series.

First off the series is awesome in animation like seriously, every character, every emotion, every musical note, every character’s voice actor. It was all perfect. And the original stories themselves though not fully adapted are shown as best as they can be in these 20 min episode arcs. I’ll say that I have gotten the inspiration to pick up Dazai’s No Longer Human after watching the story. Every story is gripping, thrilling, dealing with real life issues and just mind blowing.

Run, Melos is about a playwright who reads stories and converts them into plays. He is asked go adapt, Run, Melos a Greek story about a man who fought against a king, lost and asked for three days to go back to his home to watch his sister’s marriage and then come back, in the meantime he offers his friend as a substitute to the king. The king is confident that Melos will not come back and says that he will show the people that qualities like honesty are all but useless in the world. Out protagonist is similar to Melos. He is running, from a hometown and a past, he and his friend had decided to come to Tokyo together. He would write and his friend would perform but in the end he was betrayed by his friend Joshima who didn’t join him. He is lonely in Tokyo and keeps writing thinking of his friend. Soon enough he begins to see parallels between his story and that of Melos’ and begins hallucinating and having conversations with his friend who he blames for his sadness. He soon recieves a note that his friend is dying and rushes back to his hometown to watch his friend’s final moments. In the end he concludes with the line, “Is it more painful to wait or to make someone wait?”

This story is so compelling and beautiful. Our protagonist is like Melos running away to fulfill his dream of writing. He believes that he is the one doing the waiting, waiting for his friend and so when he is writing he calls Melos a Traitor because he believes that Melos is not really regretful that he is unable to return. In the end he discovers that his friend had conditions of his own that couldn’t let him leave but he made the protagonist leave their city so he can fulfill his dreams like Melos could watch his sister’s marriage. He returns like Melos watching his friend pass away. The end to the story which once seems so full of despair is actually very hopeful and good teaching us to look past the present and connect the dots to see the bigger picture.

Apart from Run, Melos Dazai’s other work No Longer Human is my favourite. It teaches us about the feeling of alienation and the depths of despair to which a person can sink to. The other stories all have similar themes, lust and the never ending desire of humans. Stereotypes and the want to fit in. The difference in perspectives and how they lead to different stories altogether when seen seperately but form a complete picture when viewed together.

All these values and themes that can be gotten from the show along with the perfect animation really capture the true essence of the literary masterpieces of Japan that are being shown and I know that I’m definetly going to read some. Being a 12 episode series, Aoi Bungaku is a must watch not as a mindless binge but as a carefully examined and thought over show. Watch one arc and thing about it and then watc the next arc the next day, that’s how I recommend Aoi Bungaku to everyone.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this.  Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram and Twitter with your thoughts and if you have any ideas on what I should write about. Stay safe from the COVID-19. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

Yasuke: Mechas, Hip hop and Samurai

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day.

The story moves back and forth a few times between 1582 and 1602. During 1582 and a few years before that we see Yasuke, a proud samurai who is accepted by Lord Nobunaga despite him being a black foreigner. Yasuke watches Nobunaga fall as he is attacked by his own men turning against him and the evil Daimyo coming and taking over in his place. 20 years later Yasuke tries to our his past as the legendary “Black Samurai” behind him and love as a humble boatsman in a small remote village. His peaceful life is threatened when he is asked by a singer at the inn he frequents to transport herself and a girl upstream into the warring zone. Learning that the girl is special and connected to his own past, he takes up his sword one last time for the journey. In a 16th century Japan where Mechas and magic are combined with Samurai and swordplay, Yasuke is a tale about an outsider having more honor and values that the people of the country themselves.

The show has a short but nice cast of characters with really diverse origins wether it be Russian Werebear assassin Nikita or giant robot (who is somewhat like Baymax from big hero six) named Haruto who has awesome skills but is a bit of an airhead. There’s their employer Abraham who claims to work for the Catholic church and gives trouble to Yasuke and Saki on their quest. Among others he hires there’s a black Shaman Achoja and a knife weilding assassin known as Ishikawa. Apart from there ther are people from Yasuke’s own past such as the great warrior Morisuke who fought proudly beside Yasuke. There is also Natsumaru, the only female Samurai among the ranks of the Lord Oda Nobunaga, who shares a bond with Yasuke at them both being considered outsiders. The short cast each have their own personalities and clash with each other over money, power and ideologies. There isn’t much time for any character development but that fits the show perfectly with its short length and how the characters perfectly fit into the story.

The show shines in its ability to combine Mecha robots and magic with Samurais and use Hip hop music as background music making for a new, fun atmosphere, different from any other shoe about Samurai while still remaining to be a serious show about Yasuke, a great samurai who is devoted to his morals. The show manages to get in some great fights due to its fast pacing and robots with magic but at the same time each of the characters contribute in moving the story forward and keeping it simple and serious.

The show deals with guilt honor as Yasuke, who is told many a times that he is an outsider and a servant and someone who shouldn’t be a Samurai is the only one who stays loyal to his Lord till the end. He never gives up on his honor not when he becomes a Samurai and not when he is a simple slave. He is a warrior who serves with honor and never compromises no matter what happens. He is also shown to deal with guilt and haunted by nightmares, being treated like an outsider but he never gives up his honor even when that happens. He is numerous times told that a servant will remain a servant by people even when he serves no man as mockery but it is true because no matter what he always serves his values and honor. It transitions perfectly into real life, teaching us to serve out values and not our impulses and temptations, to be honourable and firm.

The ending shows Yasuke dealing with his guilt and the ghosts of his past as he shows that he will never compromise his honor no matter what happens. It’s satisfying and deals with all the plotlines tying up perfectly. With all the action and emotions of the show you’re in the for the trwat of your life with a late night binge. A thrilling 6 episode adventure, Yasuke is definetly a must watch for everyone, if you’re good with the blood and violence that is.

Rap section:

Take to the 16th century back to feudal Japan,
For betraying Lord Oda there’s a sinister plan,
With magic and mechas the destruction began,
Black Samurai serving till the end he’s the main man.

20 years later and he’s now rowing a boat,
Down the river in a small village remote,
Drinking with his guilt struggling to stay afloat,
When he’s dodging strikes he’s the GOAT.

Old Samurai teaming with a sick girl,
One little favor and watch the chaos unfurl,
She’s the only one who can save this world,
For her he’ll give his blade once more a twirl. One strike from his sword and you’re a goner,
He just wants to alone doesn’t want a bother,
Casual guards are for him just fodder,
Yasuke is the name and he serves his honor.

One strike from his sword and you’re a goner,
He just wants to alone doesn’t want a bother,
Casual guards are for him just fodder,
Yasuke is the name and he serves his honor.
