Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. I was so hyped when I found out that there was an anime about Kabaddi and man this anime hits all the right spots.

The story follows Yoigoshi, a football prodigy in middle school, earning the name of ‘Yoigoshi the unstoppable’, who has just entered Noukin High school, due to his intense skill at the game, his teammates developed jealousy and envy towards him. Now in high school, Yoigoshi swears to quit sports and instead do livestreaming to pass his time. He is interrupted by Azemichi a Kabaddi club represent who was asked by his seniors to bring Yoigoshi to the club to try out the sport. Playing a few matches and getting dragged into signing up for the club Yoigoshi discovers that he isn’t as good of a Kabaddi player as he was a soccer player. As he is joined by others in the team, he decides to keep playing Kabaddi, getting stronger and becoming a better player, aiming for the nationals.
The characters are really fun and comedic in the show with each of them having their own little character arcs as they develop throughout the course of the show. There’s Yoigoshi who looks down on Kabaddi initially before getting motivated to become the strongest raider in the team. Azemichi, a defender and raider in the team who has a pure heart and wants to help others grow as he learns his own place in the team. There’s Misumi who is devastated after his defeat in the first tournament and learns that dwelling in pity isn’t the thing go do and instead rises up and trains. There’s the captain Ojo who is the very embodiment of a Kabaddi player who loves the sport and respects it. The vice captain Iura who learns to make his mark on the players that he plays against. There are countless other characters who contribute to the story with all of them having different viewpoints on Kabaddi and getting stronger.
The anime has some good animation and I don’t really talk about animation much but man every match, every movement and every touch is just so amazing to watch. The way the word struggle comes onto screen when a touch happens, the way the chains appear around defenders as they make chains it’s all amazing. The sheer intensity and pacing of the anime is brilliant as well with each episode having its own funny and light moments it when the match starts it gets real. The matches are fun to watch and will keep you at the edge of your seat and leave you wanting more.
Get stronger. No matter what happens just keep moving forward, that’s what this anime is all about, that’s what Kabaddi is all about. It’s an Indian sport so I’ve played a few matches myself and they are intense, you’ll get tackeled, touched and you’ll kiss the ground more often than you can count but what makes it all worth it, is that you can always come back from each loss and move forward. That’s life too, you’ll have some pretty hard falls but that doesn’t mean it’s over, you can always come back stronger. That’s the mindset of sports especially contact sports like Kabaddi which have many rounds, you can’t get discouraged with just one loss, there’s an entire game left to play.
The ending of the show kind of reminds me of Kuroko No Basket but that’s for every sports anime. The show is to be continued but the last episode shows the team gearing up with one goal in mind, “Become Number 1 in Japan.” With that I can’t wait to see more of this show and read ahead by getting the manga but all that said and done. I really recommend this show to everyone whether you’re a sports enthusiast or not.
Rap section
Take it to Noukin High with a soccer prodigy,
Cynical and a jerk he’s got a different ideology,
But when he goes on the court he’s a monstrosity,
This is Yoigoshi and the start of his odyssey.
He might be a monster but he’s given up the courts,
Ans that’s all because he’s fed up with sports,
Because of his boredom he’s chosen this course,
When he gets excited he’s of nature a force.
He’s not prepared to do it but he’s forced to try out,
For the Kabaddi club so that no one knows about,
His true identity as a streamer throughout,
The school and so he’ll take this route.
Looking down on the sport from up above,
Brash and arrogant he’s gotts become the best raider of,
The team so he can rediscover his love,
For sports and Kabaddi or lack thereof.
So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this. Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram and Twitter with your thoughts and if you have any ideas on what I should write about. Stay safe from the COVID-19. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.
