Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. I wanted to try some new things out with this anime and while it’s good, it wasn’t what I expected it to be. SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 1.
The story begins with loner gamer Keita Amano bding approached by the school idol Tendou Karen who is a game lover herself, having very low communication skills Keita ends up embarassing himself infront of Karen. Being invited to join the game club by her, Keita agrees to check it out and finfs that the club is more focused on competitive gaming (here is where I thought that this anime is going to be about Keita learning about professional gaming but NO, that’s too good of a plot.) Keita finds that the club is not the thing for him and turns down Karen, he meets with gamer Uehara and his girlfriend Aguri with whom he becomes friends. Also meeting Hoshinomori Chiaki, another gamer loner like Amano, misunderstandings ensure and the plot revolves around these five teens trying to find out the truth about their romantic relationships while sometimes gaming.
The characters are cliche, that’s all I’ll say, Amano is the loner boy who’s bad at communication but has a passion for gaming who makes girls fall for him. There’s the perfect idol Karen Tendou who is led to ruin by these hijinks. Uehara is the classic hot guy big brother boy who just wants everything to clear up but is the cause of the misunderstandings because he’s trying to get romance to bloom. There’s his girlfriend Aguri, the clingy cute girlfriend who knows little about gaming and Hoshinomori Chiaki, the loner girl who becomes hot once she changes her style a bit. None of them are relatable but this odd combination does make for a few good laughs.
The anime isn’t really all that good, with a title like gamers you’d expect atleast some relation to gaming but no, all you get is that these people game in their free time but the anime is really more about the relationships and misunderstandings between these people than about gaming. Like seriously there would be no change in the show if Instead of being gamers these people were book enthusiasts or anything else. The show does shine in its comedy though it’s got the potential to make you laugh and lighten your mind. The openings and endings are amazing, I liked the music and that’s a redeeming factor about the show.
The themes are none. There’s only comedy, no underlying theme of discrimination or anything else like that and that’s ehat disappoints me, despite being the type of person who always finds out what the anime is supposed to be about, I couldn’t find anything. The only lesson that I could find was that always talk to people, communication is important, these teens are only wrapped up in these situations because they don’t communicate their feelings to each other and only take assumptions which lead to the events of the story.
All in all Gamers! is a mindless watch. It’s good to lighten up your mood because if you take it seriously, like Amano at the end of the series you’ll be crying, “I want a refund.” The ending is good as the misunderstandings are all cleared up and it’s a kind of happy ending. The comedy is the main factor for which you should watch this anime and so I don’t recommend this to everyone, rather only to people who are looking to relax and rewind from all the serious anime shows.

There ain’t no rap cause I ain’t motivated by this show, there isn’t enough of a story to tell.
