Summertime Rendering – Mystery, murder and time travel.

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. I really only noticed this anime from Twitter but I watched it from day 1 and I was hooked. STR doesn’t disappoint with it’s episodes, ever. MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD.

The story shows Shinpei Ajiro coming back to his hometown after his childhood friend Ushio Kofune dies of drowning however Shinpei begins experiencing strange events after coming back to his home town which includes noticing marks on Ushio’s neck suggesting foul play. Shinpei soon finds out that he has a strange ability that will help him battle a dark unknown enemy to save his friends and solve the mystery of Ushio’s death and the history of his hometown.

There is a decent sized cast that is neither too big nor too small, it provides a variety of characters to keep things fresh while at the same time having enough time to flesh them out and make them lovable characters. We have the main character Shinpei who is a calm and smart individual, he is the most sensible MC I have seen as he takes immediate advantage of his abilities. His character is absolutely lovely and I guarantee that you’ll be having him in your top 10 list of MCs. We have the murdered girl Ushio who I won’t talk about. Her little sister Mio who is broken after her sister’s death and that is portrayed really well. There’s the writer and mysterious woman Hizuru. Siblings Sou and Tokiko are also great characters who play a significant part in the story.

The beautiful animation is stunning and you will fall in love with each scene. Every fight scene is fluid and flows well, the music matches up and most of all the characters look great even outside of them. The mystery plot is intriguing and will draw you in from the first episode and is filled with plot twists that spice up the story. The suspense build-up is also awesome, the stakes are raised every time and it all feels thrilling. The inner thoughts of the characters are also shown the best in my opinion since they make you fall in love with each of them after they have their own character arcs.

Care for people who are precious to you. That is the number 1 lesson that is shown so well in STR after Ushio’s death. We see Shinpei and many other characters remember their last moments with her and understand just how precious she was to their lives and how deeply they all miss her. The regret of what they said or didn’t say still lingers in them and I think that people who have lost someone would understand that very well.

With 25 episodes and a finale that will leave you amazed with how interconnected and deep the plot really is just like Steins Gate or Higurashi. It is definitely very tough to write an ending to a story that involves time travel because in the end it can always be said that the stakes and losses didn’t matter because time travel can fix everything that is why I believe that we should judge these shows by how well they use their time travel elements to move the plot further and make the story amazing instead of how predictable the ending is. The show is brilliantly well done from the characters and plot all the way to the animation and I see absolutely no reason to give it any less than a 10/10, definitely my personal top 10.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this.  Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram and Twitter with your thoughts and if you have any ideas on what I should write about. Stay safe. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.
