Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19 and having a great day. I couldn’t control myself and read the manga at like episode 6 or 5 itself and man it was one hell of a ride and I can’t wait to share with you all why you should read the manga whether you’ve already finished the anime or are just starting it. SPOILERS FOR THE ANIME.

The story after the point where the anime left off is the real deal, there’s a new gang coming in and we’ll get to see more new, incredible and lovable characters and intense fights. The new story gets darker and has more mature themes so keep that in mind. There’s also more to learn about the past and about characters like Shinichiro Sano, (yes he’s still relevant). The new gang causing conflict is the Black Dragons and their leader Taiju Shiba is an interesting and complex character. I’m trying to keep this spoiler free.
The first reason is that the story is only starting in the manga. There’s much more to explore in the world of Tokyo Revengers and the story that is to come is intense and is a treat for anyone who reads the manga. The story is so much more complex and gets so real when the new arc begins that you won’t be putting the manga down before you complete it. It’s a mid blowing story filled with plot twists and the final arc is going to be the greatest according to me.
The second point is that there’s lots of more character development. For all the people who keep saying that Takemichi is the worst MC because he’s crying and he’s weak they’ll get to see the true delinquent Takemichi in the new arcs. He steels his resolve even further and he just doesn’t back down from anything. He goes through anything and everything to fulfill his goal. We also get insight into other characters who we didn’t get to see much of in the first two arcs such as Mitsuya. We see all of our beloved characters change and yet remain the same as the story progresses. The fights obviously get more intense and the fight scenes are good to read and I can’t wait to see some of the most intense moments animated, (I’m looking at you Tenjiku arc).
What I want to focus on more are the mature themes that the manga gets into. There has always been a focus on death and guilt in the story but the way it plays out for one of our characters, it’s just so heartbreaking and also so real at the same time. I won’t reveal the name of this character but the intense pressure of all the deaths in the story do add up and they do take their toll. That’s also a lesson to take away from this manga, don’t let the responsibilities on you weigh you down so much that you go off the deep end, ask for help and also give help if you see people struggling.
The intensity of the story only increases in the next two arcs and they are definitely worth checking out. Takemichi’s character development, the story of the true killer of Hina and lots and lots more that is to be explored in the Tokyo Revengers manga awaits you and you have to check it out if the anime interested you in the slightest. Also, recommend me more delinquent manga.
So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this. Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram and Twitter with your thoughts and if you have any ideas on what I should write about and some manga recommendations. Stay safe from the COVID-19. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.
Fantastic review! I’ll be adding this to my TBR, thanks!
