Akame Ga Kill: A depressing tale about bringing change

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19. This anime hits heavy on all the right spots. I thought that this would be a depressing anime and I may have been wrong but the end is depressing or inspirational, it depends on how you look at it.

The story follows a young fighter from a village named Tatsumi who wants to go to the city to earn money to save his poor village. The opening jumps you straight into the action with Tatsumi facing a huge ‘danger beast’ as the anime calls them and defeating it. He makes to the Capital only to realize that it is rotten to the core and it is a world where the rich oppress the poor. His life takes a turn when he is asked to join ‘Night Raid’ a group of assassins working to kill the emperor and make the nation a fair and just one. Tatsumi needless to say agrees and training with the others gets stronger to help them in taking down the Evil Emperor. The story gets dark the further you go into it though it has its light moments. People start dying and Tatsumi who was training under them takes their advice to become stronger and stronger. There is a lot of character development and as the show goes on Tatsumi develops both physically and mentally throughout the show and by the end you can see that Tatsumi really changed.

The anime has a good amount of blood and gore and killing if that’s what you’re all about. However I still recommend one thing to each and every person to watch the last 2 fights of the anime. They’re filled with amazing action and bring tears to your eyes with the amount of emotions that are flowing. Akame Ga Kill is all about sacrifice and it’s mostly life that is sacrificed but it paves the way to the end. There are a bunch of lovable characters that are Night Raid members Akame, Najenda, Leone (or as Tatsumi calls her ‘boobs’) then there’s Mine, Sheele, Lubbock and the person that influences Tatsumi the most Bulat. 2 new members Susano and Chelsea koin the group later on and though they all have their quirks they treat each other as family and are ready to kill. The most dangerous of them is Akame who is ruthless, brutal and merciless. The shows also draws a parallel between the fighters of the Rebellion and the fighters of the Emperor. The Emperor has his own killers named the Jaegars which consist of Wave, Kurome, Seryu, Dr. Stylish, Run and Bols. Each side loses its members slowly and both sides feel the sorrow. It was after any of the fights between the Jaegars and the Night Raid that you would ask, ‘Did Anyone truly win?’

This sort of self questioning that I do after watching anime is precisely why I love stories. They give you a different perspective on everything and my perspective was that the Night Raid was at peace with their death’s so were the Jaegar’s because each side knew the risk of fighting and yet they didn’t back down. At the start of the show the Night Raid tells Tatsumi that the workd they do is dirty and that they must do it so that the rest of the people can keep their hands clean. They never reject the fact that they are murderes but they never say that they are evil. The characters also give you a conflict between good and evil, right and wrong and most importantly, Love and Hate.

The action is amazing in the show and each fight is unique and the fighter’s own motivations and inspirations don’t make each fight seem to be there just for some action rather it makes eevery fight meaningful. The action is so over the top and crazy that it will keep you at the edge of your seat and fear not the anime has a pretty satisfying ending though different from the Manga. Overall I would definetly recommend Akame Ga Kill to people who are strong in heart and who are not easily depressed. Hell even I cried at some parts especially at the end. Go watch it for sure and hit me up with your thoughts in DM.

Now for the Rap Section:

An incredible fighter from a really poor village,
Got nothing to his name but a lot of courage,
But when he takes up a sword there will be damage,
Joins a group of assassin’s to end an evil lineage.

He’s training with the best and he kills with no remorse,
But when all the things take a turn for the worse,
All the enemies that he faces he’s gonna disperse,
Don’t mess with him yeah his skills are diverse.

He may be a killer but he also won a few hearts,
Gets stuck with one of them and he uses his smarts,
To stop her before she gets too close to his private parts,
Besides all that his power’s also off the charts.

He stands with his team to bring forth the revolution,
He gets in and kills his target amidst all the confusion,
He’s got a heart of gold and heavy resolution,
It’s all an attempt to change the constitution.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this.  Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. Stay safe from the COVID-19. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.
