Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. I’m so glad that I decided to finish the manga for this because this stuff is intense. SPOILERS FOR THE ANIME AHEAD.

The story after the anime is really intense like you could say that this is the real story of BTOOOM and what we’d seen in the anime was just a trailer with character introductions. The truth about the death game is revealed to us and we also see how things are going outside the island and how another fight is going on in the outside world as well. BTOOOM started out as a death game and players just fighting to survive but now it turns into a fight between ideals and nations. Sakomoto makes daring plans but as he realises that others outside the game are fighting too he decides to no longer fight to be win and get home but to fight for the right cause.
There are many new characters introduced to us in the manga, all of whom serve different purposes and whom I do not want to spoil here because even a saying little bit about them means spoiling the entire thing and I don’t want to do that because I want all of you to have a pure experience when you read it. There is great character development I can say that with Sakomoto battling his own weakness and all the other characters, changing and becoming better or worse people as the story progresses.
The one thing that I hated in the manga was the sheer intensity of Ecchi it put in, while some moments were supposed to be really emotionally charged and make you feel a certain way, you just can’t because you feel like it’s being used as a joke yet again. Also I understand why we didn’t have a season 2 of BTOOOM, the stuff that these guys would have had to animate is seriously not pretty at all but apart from the excess of Ecchi, the manga is actually very good. The scale of the game as I mentioned before gets bigger, the manga dives into the supernatural as well and there are talk about sins and rehabilitation and it’s a whole new dynamic. There’s also the beautiful way they played out the ending by getting us attached to Sakomoto, the main character and then seeing the ending through ourselves by offering us the choice.
The bigger picture that BTOOOM aims to give with the manga is that there are always things that are much bigger than us happening in the world, people fighting for control over the commoners, hidden forces trying to protect the world’s freedom. The point is that we as people need to govern our own freedom and learn about things bigger than us that are going on and how it’s indirectly affecting us. There’s also the point of accepting that there are things bigger than us and that our problems are not the only ones. To summarise it up in a line, “There’s always things bigger than you going on and you must learn to observe them to see how they affect you instead of staying in a bubble.”
The manga has 2 endings and I have read both. The manga asks you to make a choice at a pivotal moment in the story and depending on that you either choice the Light ideal ending or the Dark real ending. The Light ending is more of a feel good ending and while it does wrap things up you could say that it’s more selfish. The dark ending shows how vile humanity really is and is really emotionally charged. In this ending the characters work more for the higher purpose of the entire world than for selfish reasons. I personally think that ending 2 is much better written and is meant to be the real ending and while the Light ending is more of a feel good ending, the line with which it leaves us at the end can also make you question if what the characters did was truly the correct choice to make. To find out which of these two endings is the one that better suits you, you need to get to reading the manga. Standing at 122 chapters, the BTOOOM manga is a truly worthwhile experience.
So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this. Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram and Twitter with your thoughts and if you have any ideas on what I should write about. Stay safe from the COVID-19. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.
