WHY PERSONA 3 NEEDS TO BE REMADE

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19. I recently played Persona 3 again and it left me thinking as it did the first 2 times. After that I really thought that if the game was so good that I played it 3 times over there’s got to be a reason and I thought about it. Here are my thoughts.

First off Persona 3 just deals with a much much darker theme than 4 and 5. While 4 is more about the truth and lies and 5 is about tyranny and freedom, 3 is about life and death itself. The overall theme of the game is darker than the ones after it. There’s always a heavy atmosphere during the story and the only light moments in the main story are the beach scene and sometimes when Junepi is acting like a dumbass and a pervert. The story gets darker as it progresses with deceit and death being the real driving factors. The real reason the SEES team is even fighting is because they want to save the people from being attacked by the shadows. They at first work to eliminate the Dark Hour but when they learn that they’ve been tricked and are actually helping bringing the ‘Fall’ or the destruction of the world by defeating the shadows. This deceit really hurts because it’s basically their mentor and the person who has guided them through their journey who does it. There’s also a really emotional scene where a robot realizes she has feelings and decides to act on feelings instead of commands showing freedom. These 2 things are basically the very themes of Persona 4 and 5, the deception is of Persona 4 and the freedom is of Persona 5.

There also comes a point in the story where the protagonist has to make a choice that is either fight a battle this is unwinnable or live in ignorance till the world ends. This was obviously a no brainer as the real ending of the game is the first choice but come to think of it, I did choose the second one on one of my playthroughs just to see what it was like. There’s also the part where the Protagonist basically bets it all on one final move and even knowing that it might kill them still does it. There aren’t themes like these in the later games, they are much lighter and focus more on the lighter themes. The ending is also bittersweet as the protagonist and the others forget everything and live in ignorance for their finals till graduation day. The protagonist also basically dies and get a choice as to which love interest they get to spend one final moment with or they can also choose to not hear anyone and just spend the final moment with the team. The death is rather peaceful surrounded with friends in the open air, a truly poetic end. The protagonist you could say basically was entrusted this responsibility when they were little and when their purpose is fulfilled they leave in peace. It’s essentialy a sacrifice that the world will never know about as they continue to live on. It was at this moment that the players realized that it was either one life or the entire world and making the choice was seriously tough.

The game also had repurcussions like the social rink reversing and breaking which I liked. It really emulated real life. The dungeon wasn’t that good as it was one big thing but if it’s broken into smaller parts like in the later games it’ll be damn good. The characters were also good and lovable which made the game fun and those emotions also impacted your decisions when forming your party because I know I did.

All in all the game deals with a darker theme and with the newer graphics and an enhanced dungeon system the game can be a masterpiece, greater than the one it already is. Let me know what your thoughts on the game were in DM.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this.  Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. Stay safe from the COVID-19. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.
