10 books to read in quarantine

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19. I know you guys must be getting bored in this quarantine because I know I am so here is a list of my books to enjoy while in quarantine. Also, try to get them in audiobook or pdf form because it will be near impossible to get a book at this time. I have also not included any author twice so I can provide real value.

  • Crush It : Gary Vaynerchuk

Gary Vee is an Icon of our generation. His advice was the one that inspired me to start the blog. His advice is now widely accepted but there was a time when it was not and though written in 2009 all the advice and words of wisdom written in the book is still true to this date. You can also get some other books written by Gary for more wisdom. Work on your passion and self-development in quarantine get this book.

  • Angels and Demons : Dan Brown

If you’re an enthusiastic reader I’m sure you would have read this one by now but if you haven’t you’re missing out. A chilling and gripping story of Professor Langdon in a race against time to save the Vatican itself. The story is great and the book can keep you engaged for quite a while. While all of Dan Brown’s books are good this one is my personal favourite.

  • Predictably Irrational : Dan Ariely

Discover the secrets of your mind, its workings and how it is exploited in the market. One incident of ripping off bandages set Dan on a quest to find answers about the better method and through experimentation he finds his answer which interests him to study more about the mind. Each of his deductions have interesting experiments that is truly brilliant. A must have for people who want to understand more about their brain and minds.

  • The Journey Home Autobiography of an American Swami : Radhanath Swami

Radhanath Swami is a monk one of India’s most respected spiritual gurus and a member of ISKCON. This book is a memoir to the great spiritual leader, founder of ISKCON and the spiritual guru of Radhanath Swami Maharaj that is Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. A beautiful tale of journey, mysticism and most of all love. This book is a splendid journey one that everyone should experience.

  • The Eyes of Darkness : Dean Koontz

While some people say that this novel predicted the Corona Virus I can assure you that it did not. It is a thriller following the journey of a mother who wants to see if her son truly died a year ago or is he is still alive. Yes this book does make a mention of a killer virus made by China called Wuhan-500 so if you get easily freaked out don’t read this one.

  • The Subtle art of not giving a Fu*k : Mark Manson

The title may not be appealing to some people but the content inside is the real gem. The mind-set that everyone needs to have is given in this book. Mark Manson puts all the wisdom needed to live a happy life in this book.

  • The Cobra – Fredrick Forsythe

Forsythe is essentially a genius his stories are the best to read and his twists are unpredictable yet blend in perfectly with the story. The Cobra is my favourite book of his simply due to its concept about an agent trying to end the drug trade. The story is thrilling and I can guarantee you’ll have trouble putting this one down before you finish it. Also, check out the other books all of them are great.

  • Brief answers to the Big Questions : Stephen Hawking

Stephen never fails to impress with any of his theories or his books. The answers in this book to the questions that have been there since time immemorial are fascinating. You don’t need to be a scientist to read this book the answers are made simple for everyone.

  • The Fault in our Stars : John Green

The 4th solo novel of John this book is amazing simply amazing it has life lessons that each of us need in our lives. The story itself is reason enough to pick the book up. Though published in 2012 this book is still relevant.

  • To Kill the President : Jonathan Freedland

Maggie Costello uncovers a plot to assassinate the tyrannical President of the United States. This  book works pretty well as a standalone so no need to worry about picking up the books before this one. Real sensitive topic in the book but a worthy read.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this.  Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. VR GAMING: IS IT THE FUTURE ?

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19. I know I’ve been doing a lot of book reviews lately and yes there are more to come but for the time being let’s talk gaming.

All of us know what VR gaming is you wear a headset with motion tracking capabilities and you’re transported to the game world to live out the story as if you were there to experience it with your own eyes. Virtual Reality blew everyone away when it first came out in about 1970 according to Wikipedia but no one had ever thought about it being incorporated into gaming yeah there were flight simulators but it was not open to the public. Then came 1991 when Sega announced the Sega VR headset for arcade games and the Mega Drive console. It used LCD screens in the visor, stereo headphones, and inertial sensors that allowed the system to track and react to the movements of the user’s head. In the same year, Virtuality launched and went on to become the first mass-produced, networked, multiplayer VR entertainment system that was released in many countries, including a dedicated VR arcade at Embarcadero Center. Costing up to $73,000 per multi-pod Virtuality system, they featured headsets and exoskeleton gloves that gave one of the first “immersive” VR experiences. A lot of more shit happened in that year such as Carolina Cruz-Neira, Daniel J. Sandin and Thomas A. DeFanti from the Electronic Visualization Laboratory created the first cubic immersive room, the Cave automatic virtual environment (CAVE). If you don’t know those people Google them.

CAVE

So this was all great and like really fascinating as I have been told but then came in 2001 the SAS Cube (SAS3) the first PC-based cubic room. Then in 2007, Google introduced Street View, a service that shows panoramic views of an increasing number of worldwide positions such as roads, indoor buildings and rural areas. It also features a stereoscopic 3D mode, introduced in 2010.

Till now very little gaming was done in VR but it was time to change that In 2010, Palmer Luckey designed the first prototype of the Oculus Rift and boy it hyped everyone up this was the future and it was amazing. In 2014, Sony announced Project Morpheus (its code name for the PlayStation VR), a virtual reality headset for the PlayStation 4 video game console. Now things were really getting good with games like: PSVR Worlds, Drive Club and a lot of other ones the PSVR was a hit and it was selling great like as of December 31, 2019, PlayStation VR has sold-through 5 million units and who can blame the people the very thought of playing the Elder Scrolls or Five Nights at Freddys in VR excited people. The hype was and still is real.

Now for the take VR gaming is the future with games like Iron Man VR coming up and already great games like Farpoint already on the system. VR gaming is not going anywhere anytime soon all I can see it doing is expanding like being used in training for a lot of other jobs so people can experience stressful situations and tackle them without any actual harm coming to anyone and some people can just experience them as games for just fun. VR is not the future it is the present and it is going to stay around for a long long time maybe even became an integral part of our lives. So the answer is no VR is not the future it is the present and it’s going to stay around for a long time. I even see people designing their own games and uploading them for others to play that might be a really cool business idea for anyone who wants to jump in. Yeah VR is cool and it was once a thing that people did not even imagine now it is everywhere. You might not even see it but it really is everywhere and I personally see VR gaming becoming competitive enough someday for it to be on Esports. My final take is yeah VR is the present but it’s going to stay for a long time so no worries if you feel like you’re gonna miss out this thing is not going anywhere though with the possibilities that VR presents for gaming you could also say that this is just the testing phase and we might see full games being played in VR a common thing if they fix the various problems like seizures and other things. Remember if you look to the future this might be just a testing phase.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this.  Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. Stay safe from the COVID-19. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

10 Games to Endure the Quarantine

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe from the COVID-19. I know I’ve been doing a lot of book reviews lately and yes there are more to come but for the time being let’s talk gaming more appropriately gaming that will help you get through the quarantine.

  • The Witcher 3

Exciting swordplay and magic, monsters to slay and most importantly a long and interesting story to enjoy. You can say that The Witcher 3 is the perfect game to play for this quarantine so you can get lost in the vast open world full of side quests to do and the main story itself is not short. If you haven’t yet played it this is a gem to be experienced and if you already have relieve this epic adventure one more time.

  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Stealthy ninja moves, cutting edge weapons and amazing graphics Sekiro is a game that has it all from tricky and hard to figure out enemies to kill to different endings that will leave you scratching your head. There’s a high chance that most of the time playing this game you’ll have a walkthrough or a wiki to help you get through but it still is a good game.

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Do I need to give you a reason to play this game it’s a classic though more about tactics and it has an amazing story and also Captain Price is back what more could you want. Also if not for anything play it for the extremely well done gameplay and graphics and appreciate Call of Duty at its best.

  • Resident Evil 2

Survival horror, single-player, conspiracy and a killer remake of the 1998 version, Resident Evil 2 is a really great game. It’s much like the original but also so much better I never got to play the original one so now I can play this better version. Also it has Tyrant so those of you that know who he is you will want to pick this game up.

  • Devil May Cry 5

Dive into the shoes of your favourite silver haired devil hunters Dante and Nero and a new guy V who you all must know what his real identity is. This game is one for the books take up the Sparda Sword and Red Queen once more and get to killing demons and devils because this is a story that you want to experience even if you have never played DMC before.

  • Mortal Kombat 11

This is best for the people who are familiar with the story from the previous games also it has moves and blows that will wither make you sick and throw up or scream ‘awesome’. It’s a fighting game and one worth playing nothing much else to say.

  • Horizon Zero Dawn

Killer robots check, badass weapons check, great and gripping story triple check. I’m actually recommending this one because I’m playing it myself and it’s still good maybe it’ll not be as good if you’ve alreay experienced it once but playing it once again just to appreciate the graphic from a high point is worth it.

  • Fallout 4

Come on you thought I was gonna forget Fallout it’s a Bethesda guys and it’s a future gone seriously seriously wrong. A great sotry to experience and lots of side quests as well as exploring the map I’d say this game will take about 55 hours of your time. Also you’ll spend a lot of time figuring out the mechanics and uncovering what is going on. Also it might teach you a thing or two about surviving if nuclear war ever breaks out.

  • Red Dead Redemption 2

A normal world with a not so normal protagonist this is a game that will help you take your mind off things like the virus and just be a convict and shoot people with those revolvers and ride your horse. Go hunting or robbing the world is yours to explore and even after you finish the main story you can just live life like a simple criminal robbing and gazing at the scenery. It’s a hell of a ride.

  • The Last of Us

This is one is my personal favourite it tells the tragic tale of Joel who is one of the survivors of the virus that has spread all over the earth destroying human civilization and is mixed up with Ellie who is immune to the virus. This adventure is emotional and scary sometimes. You can also learn resourcefulness from this game also fair warning please keep a tissue box handy because you might cry.

Honourable mentions

These games did not make it to the list but they can still give you a few hours of fun and I recommend them all.

  • Saints Row 3 and 4 – Hours of fun just destroying stuff.
  • Sleeping Dogs – Hong Kong, martial arts and Triads all the reasons to play this.
  • Days Gone (Must try) – Did not make the cut because I was trying to focus more on games a few years old and this one was recently released.
  • Plague Inc. – A mobile game so you can create your own virus and infect the world.

You have the list now how to get the games is your responsibility I wish you luck. So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this and will not be bored in the quarantine now. Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. Stay safe from the COVID-19. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

Review of The Oath of the Vayuputras

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. The Oath of The Vayuputras is the third and last book in the Shiva trilogy and this one goes all out giving twists that even the most perceptive of us would not imagine. SPOILER WARNING: THIS BOOK CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR ALL 3 BOOKS.

The Battle lines are drawn, the alliances are made and the betrayals are done now all that remains is the war. This is the best short description that I can give of the book. It is truly epic Amish surpassed all expectations with this one making this book the longest and the best in the whole series. *ENDING SPOILER FOR BOOK 2* Shiva learns that the secret of the Nagas is not anything but a person one whom Shiva dearly loved as a brother and one whom he had thought dead. I will try to write without revealing his name because it makes it more interesting. Shiva learns how the deformed Nagas are born. Later it is revealed that the disease in the land of Branga, the Nagas are connected and are caused by the Greatest Evil one that has been lying under their noses in Meluha all this time.

Some in Shiva’s entrouge face conflicted loyalties whether to fight for their living God or for their country Meluha. Amish talks about Dharma in this book and being accurate showing that he does his research. The philosophical themes discussed provide a great relief from the usual strategy and fighting. We finally get to know how a Neelkanth is created and what the role of the Vayuputras is. Bhrigu on the other hand refuses to believe that Shiva is the Neelkanth as he was not created by the Vayuputras. Through flashbacks we see Shiva’s uncle giving him medicine thus, choosing him to be the Neelkanth and showing that he was a Vayuputra. We also see the event that has scarred Shiva’s mind and how that was what led to him being chosen by his uncle. Shiva is later shown to come to terms with the event and be at peace knowing that it was a part of the puzzle that led to him becoming the Neelkanth. We see the Naga’s joining forces with Shiva showing that some of them too believe in the Neelkanth.

Shiva finally meets the fabled leader of the Vasudevs and gains knowledge from them. I have said this first and I say it again Amish describes places masterfully and the way he described all these places were the best. The army and the weapons used by them is simply magnificent. The characters while some Suryavanshis are debating as to which side they are on. The Chandravanshis see this is an opportunity to put down the Suryavanshis but Shiva is firm on the fact that if he puts a ban on the greatest evil none will use it once again showing that he is fit to be the Mahadev and is unbiased. They journey to Meluha and attach a port city where Shiva’s tactic that defeated the Chandravanshi army is used against him. Shiva decimates his opponents showing that he is a genius strategist and can break his own moves if played against him. Events occur forcing Shiva to leave to visit the Vayuputras and once again Amish does not fail to suprise us and we learn the reason the Vayuputras exist and how a Neelkanth is chosen. The war at Meluha is at a stalemate.

During the events that occur leading up to the battle of Meluha we see Kartik my personal favourite character turn into the fabled god of war. We see how the determination of a child helps him mature before his age and we see the horror of war. Kartik also plays a rather important role in helping fulfil his father’s purpose. It then that we see that every word said in Amish’s book is to the point and not just said to be changed later. Every word is followed to the letter.

Daksha grows desperate forcing his commanders to use torture and break the principles of Lord Ram. A truce is called and a peace conference held. Sati takes control in Shiva’s absence and we see the great loyalty of Nandi as it was in the legend and we see the genius mind, respect and most importantly bravery in Sati. This specific chapter won my heart you guys will know why when you read it. Here Sati is shown a true follower of Lord Ram and a fierce kashtria.

We also see another side to Emperor Daksha by the end of the story one which makes us feel pity showing that he was not the evil man but just a man trying to prove himself and stand up to the expectations of others and choosing affirmation over happiness. He is the perfect model of what a man should not be. There is a great philosophy explained with the use of a Banyan tree one which I loved. All this time the Vasudevs are shown to be the wise ones but the best philosophy is from a destroyed man facing death.

Bhrigu though shown as the ultimate foe of Shiva makes the right choice in the end and we learn that all he wanted to do was protect his people and save them from a fraudulent Neelkanth. The power from the Greatest good that has turned into the Greatest Evil corrupted him and he was not ready to part with it but he is shown the light by Shiva the Mahadev.

Overall it is the best book in the series it moves fast and sometimes I would just take a moment to contemplate what happened. Amish’s descriptions helped me play the book out like a movie in front of me. It is a must read and a story that once begun will have you satisfied at each step. It is really a great piece of fiction backed up by facts. I recommend it to all the readers out there.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this. Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

I would like to end by honoring Shiva the Mahadev, the greatest Vaishnava by just chanting his mantra one which his followers use to show their respect, devotion and most of all power. You will understand it’s meaning if you read the book or just google it or from the religious scriptures. I request you all to chant it with me in your minds out loud and feel the power.

                                          HAR HAR MAHADEV

And how can I forget the Supreme lord who’s devotee Shiva is for no prayer is complete without his name :

                                            JAI SHREE RAM

Review of The Secret of the Nagas

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. The Secret of the Nagas is the second book in the Shiva Trilogy so I recommend reading the previous post then coming back. I had got this and the third book immediately after finishing the first because I liked it and I wanted to know more. SPOILER WARNING: THIS BOOK CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST AND SECOND BOOK.

This book picks up exactly where the last one left off *SPOILER FOR THE ENDING OF THE FIRST BOOK PLEASE SKIP TO THE NEXT PARAGRAPH * with Shiva chasing after the Naga with Sati. The Naga escapes leaving them puzzled and they discover that they need to travel deeper into the lands of the Chandravanshi’s to solve the mysteries of the greatest evil which Shiva has to destroy.

We set off a new journey this time the action mostly takes place in the Chandravanshi kingdom. As in the last book Shiva is told that the Chandravanshis had also been told of the same prophecy as the Suryavanshis and that the utter destruction he has caused was for nothing. Shiva consults a Vasudev Pundit and gets guided that he had to enter the war from either side and he had to be an outsider so that his judgement is not clouded. We explore Ayodhya, Kashi, Land of the Brangas and ultimately to the Naga Capital Panchvati. Amish has expertly described the journey and the beautiful temples and monuments relying on his knowledge of the geography of the place. Shiva is now much calmer and wants to prevent meaningless killing and bloodshed. The rouge foreigner chief of the Gunas had transformed into the Neelkanth or as some liked to call him the Mahadev. Shiva by this time has a faithful entrouge and a highly motivated army ready to die for their God. He travels to Kashi the land of Lord Rudra where he is accepted with grandeur and glorified as the next Mahadev. Shiva learns that the people of Branga suffer from a terrible plague and need Naga medicine to survive. Sati is left in Kashi while Shiva continues on first to deal with a threat and gain an ally then onwards to the land of Branga.

Shiva’s status as the Neelkanth grants him access to Branga where he first hand sees the suffering of the people. He vows to get them the Naga medicine. Shiva’s character here is really selfless and kind showing yet again that he is worthy of the title of Neelkanth. Sati gives birth and we see a new character Maharishi Bhrigu who is mysterious and wise. He is seen as controlling, manipulative and deeply respected by all. Bhrigu can be considered the ultimate adversary of Shiva as 2 deeply respected and highly important people clashing against each other. Sati after giving birth deals with a problem of the Kashi leaving her son in the care of her servant Krittika. Sati here shows immense ferocity, moral values and good sense of judgement. She is also shown as selfless and prepared to face death. It is in this incident that we see the true nature of the Nagas and the reason why Sati was being stalked by one. Secrets are revealed showing that the Nagas are not the pure evil that they were thought of. Shiva with the help of the Naga after Sati who is revealed to have much deeper connections that previously thought of and the Queen travels to Panchvati to find the Secret of the Nagas one which will help him identify the greatest evil and fulfil his destiny. Shiva though due to a previous incident is distrustful of the Nagas another incident later on makes him trust them.

The connection shared by Shiva and sati with the Nagas is one that can be guessed by people who know the legend. However, the way in which Amish set it up shows that he is a genius and is not just throwing in elements and characters as he feels but deeply follows the plot that he sets up and does nothing without any reason. The way in which he introduced these characters cleared all doubts from my mind and I knew that it was a masterpiece that Amish had created. The book follows the legend quite closely though the story is edited greatly still some aspects and characters are the same. It could be said that Amish has re imagined the story and turned it into his own work. The book was still great we get to see a lot of characters and go deep with their values and their dedication or hatred for Shiva. No doubt a lot of things are misinterpreted but Amish is also a human just like us and the legend has many variations but Amish has provided the best adaptation I have seen.

The second book picks up the pace and gets into the action a lot of strategy and fighting is involved along with the conversations with the Vasudevs which are still deeply insightful and philosophical. The ending is again a cliff hanger with the secret of the Nagas revealed which is greatly unexpected. The next book is the best of the three and this one I say with a heavy heart is a bit boring mainly due to switching between so many places and so many characters. I think this book was just to extend the plot up to the masterpiece that the third book is. I’ll post the review of the last book too so please check it out.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this. Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

Review of The Immortals of Meluha

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. It had been a long time since I had read any fiction books and the Shiva Trilogy by Amish Tripathi caught my eye. I decided to get the first book as when I read the first few pages of it in the store I knew that this was going to be worth it. SPOILER WARNING: THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS.

The story is fiction backed up by facts. The story follows Shiva the chief of his tribe the Gunas living his life in Mount Kailash which is not luxurious but sustainable. He is visited by Nandi who hails from Meluha and wants to offer them shelter in Meluha providing them with better means of living and jobs to work. Shiva decides to take up the offer and travels to Meluha remembering his uncle’s words ‘Your destiny is greater than these mountains but in order to achieve it you will have to cross these very same mountains’. On their first night there Shiva’s family is given the Somras ‘The Drink of the Gods’ and they fall ill. Shiva’s body however starts healing a thing that the Somras should not have been able to do. Shiva feels his throat go cold and is asked by the head doctor Auryvati to take a bath and change into other clothes but when Auryvati sees what is causing Shiva’s throat to go cold she understands that a saviour has descended and that Shiva is not any ordinary immigrant. Shiva is addressed as the lord by any Meluhan who sees his blue throat and gains an audience with the Emperor and without his knowledge saves the princess from a Naga attack. Shiva falls in love with Sati the princess and tries his best to impress her despite seeing it clearly that they cannot be together. The story progresses with Shiva gaining a deeper understanding of Meluhan culture and where he fits in it.

Gradually Shiva learns about his place as a Neelkanth and is at first reluctant to accept it due to past trauma but later embraces it and decides to lead the people of Meluha while some people respect Shiva for just being the Neelkanth some people Shiva needs to prove himself to and gradually he also accepts himself as a Mahadev. He learns the ways of Lord Ram and his deeds and how he as the Neelkanth needs to destroy the greatest evil. He meets the Vasudevs and learns more about the world of Meluha and most importantly his role and becomes wiser. The best quote from this book was : ‘The deeds of a person do not earn him a title but he must do deeds because he has a title.’

The books description of Meluha and all other places is so deep. I could almost imagine the city and its people in front of me. The book also has humor at some points which is a nice release from all the action. The book does not make Shiva an immortal God but a normal human who has the skills necessary for the task at hand. Shiva’s swordsmanship and fighting skills come from his time as a chief of his clan. Shiva is also a genius strategist which is shown in many instances. He is observant and likes a challenge. The Nagas are very cleverly introduced and made a part of the story an important one that too. There are also illustrations given in the book to help better understand some images though through Amish’s description you can already get a clear picture. Sati is also shown as a true warrior Suryavanshi and not like a Damsel in distress.

The way in which Amish connects the real legend to this piece of fiction is amazing he makes sure that all the character are included and not one is left out. The character of Nandi was one which was so brilliantly put in while also keeping the legend intact. I had severe doubts as to how other characters would be introduced but turns out I had nothing to fear. What separates this book from the dozens of others which popped up after Amish’s book hit the shelves is that he makes sure that he can put in as much of the legend as possible and introduce new elements of his own and making sure there are no inconsistencies in the story.

The book is not just fiction the philosophy is also deep though it sometimes does not make sense. Amish establishes a timeline and sticks to it not changing facts establishes in the past books. The philosophy is also great playing with basic knowledge which really gets you into thinking mode for example when asked about a colour of a leaf and being told the principals of light reflecting Shiva is asked whether the leaf is green or every colour but green. Thus teaching him a lesson that all is not as it looks. This really got me thinking and I was impressed by this clever play. I always looked forward to conversations between The Vasudevs and Shiva because their talk provide a different kind of pace a break from the usual pace.

The first book is really all about getting us used to the characters and making sure we know all the teachings and legends as Shiva for if you look at it we are indirectly an outside like Shiva who learns the customs and culture of Meluha. The ending is a cliff-hanger after which I immediately ran to the store to get the other 2 books. I knew I needed to finish the books no matter what. The book is overall a must read is you love fiction or are just a newbie reader. I will post the reviews of the next 2 books later.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this. Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

Review of The 5 AM Club

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. I recently finished reading The 5 AM Club by Robin Sharma and it was one of the best self-development books I have read. Let’ get into it.

The book though a self-help one follows a story to show us what it’s like to be a member of The 5 AM Club and how it improves the life of its members. The story begins with an Entrepreneur who wants to take her own life but attends the talk of The Spellbinder where she gets inspired by his words and meets an artist there after some convo they are interrupted by a beggarly looking man whom they assume snuck in but to their surprise they see him wearing an expensive watch and promising an adventure of a lifetime with promises that a beggar could not fulfil. They learn that the beggar is also a follower of the Spellbinder’s work and the 3 of them compare notes with one another. The beggar invites them to Mauritius and offers to teach them the teachings of the Spellbinder that made him a multi-Billionaire. Though reluctant the entrepreneur and the artist agree and the beggarly looking man asks the 2 of them to meet them at the same place the next day. Upon being asked what time the beggarly man replied ‘’5 am. Own your morning Elevate your life”. This is the point from which the book becomes un-putdown-able the artist and the entrepreneur learn about the 5 am club and become members to it. The beggarly looking man who was a multi-Billionaire teaches them many different models and techniques to enhance their creativity and bring back their Child like genius.

The models taught by Robin Sharma in the book are unique and since this was the first book of his that I read I was surprised to find everything so beautifully explained and so simplified. The book may follow a story but the man focus of it is to teach the readers different concepts with learning models that make it much more simplified and handy to learn them. The very first teaching is of course waking up at 5 am but unlike other books this one gives you all the tricks and tactics you need to use to wake up at 5 am and implement all the teachings in the book. It’s not like wake up at 5 a and do this Robin teaches to use an alarm clock and set it half an hour late so that it tricks your brain to think you are waking up later. Robin doesn’t just teaches to wake up at 5 am he teaches what to do when you wake up and also tells us that the formula he teaches is customizable to everyone’s own wishes and how they want to run it.

The 20/20/20 formula is my favourite teaching and also one of the most useful. It tells the readers what to do from 5-6 am the hour that is called ‘The Victory Hour’. We get scientific proof as to why we should do what Robin explains in the book such as the increased chemicals with exercise, the increased positivity by reflection and the gift of growth by learning. These are the 3 pockets of the 20/20/20 formula Move, Reflect and Grow. That translates to exercise, meditate and learn. Giving 20 mins each to these pockets enhances your creativity and lets you awaken the primeval genius inside each of you. I ran the 20/20/20 formula myself and found that my days were so much more productive than they usually were. I found that the Victory hour was exactly the extra time I needed to reflect and grow. The advantage of the victory hour is that in that moment of tranquillity you can really reflect and grow. It gives you the peace and tranquillity that is such a rare thing to find in today’s life it really got my creativity juices flowing.

Robin also focuses greatly on not only the mindset but also healthset, heartset and soulset. These he calls the 4 interior empires and in order to dominate our field and build our exterior empires. I was greatly impressed by the fact that it wasn’t the usual mastery of the mind is the key Robin draws focus on the things that will lead us to world class performance. The mindset is explained about willpower. The healthset to keep us fit so that we can serve people. The heartset is about kindness and forgiveness. The soulset is all about spirituality and inner peace.

Another advice in the book is having distraction free times and zones called the tight bubble of focus. The book explains that not using any devices like your phone an hour before sleeping and an hour after waking up is highly beneficial as it does not allow our minds to get distracted and waste the precious creativity and mind power we have on stupid things. When we waste our brain energy on small tasks we are unable to perform the big task at world class performance. To prevent this we have been given the 90/90/1 formula and the 60/10 formula. I implemented the 60/10 formula and it had proven to give me great results. The 60 /10 formula tells us to work with total focus for 60 mins then take a break for 10 mins. Doing this allows your brain to work in total focus as we have a set time for our breaks. The main reason productivity decreases with extended periods of working is that our mind keeps wanting to relax and because we have no set time limit for the break we get distracted and move on something completely different from what we were doing leaving our work incomplete. Whereas if you keep working for long periods without a break you’ll eventually lose focus and interest and motivation. This will cause you to not deliver world class performance as you should.

Alright guys this is all I can say about the book it is really inspiring the teachings are great and if you love stories this one has a great story too. Do pick it up all the teachings in it are worth it that I could not fit in in this post. Comment down below if you are getting your copy of The 5 AM Club or not it is also available in audiobook or E-book form and if you do please tell me your favourite lessons.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this. Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

Everything known about the PS5

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. So today I’m jotting down all the things about the PS5 than I found through the internet. Let’s get into it.

PS5 (or PlayStation 5) is the next-generation PlayStation, releasing in late 2020. The hysteria started in early 2019, when Mark Cerny, the chief architect on Sony’s next console, confirmed that the company was working on the successor to the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro. According to Sony, the PS5 still has big surprises to come – but it won’t be revealing them at E3 2020, as the company has confirmed it won’t be attending this year, again. That’s not to say we won’t see the PS5 anytime soon – the official PS5 website is now live, further fuelling rumours that Sony is planning a PS5 reveal event in the near future, although this hasn’t been confirmed. In addition, we’ve had some surprising leaks, in the form of a Sony-registered patent that seems to show off the PS5’s general shape, button inputs, and cooling vents – this was confirmed to be the PS5 dev kit in a leaked photo. However, we expect the end product design will be different for the PlayStation 5’s official launch later in the year.

RELEASE DATE

Sony has officially confirmed that the PS5 will release “in time for Holiday 2020” in the US, so likely sometime between October and December 2020. A leak has suggested that the release date will be November 20, 2020 but that’s yet to be confirmed. This would put the PlayStation 5 in direct competition with Microsoft’s Xbox Series X which is releasing during the same period. So it looks like there will be a nice competition to see which console tops the sales charts. I personally think that it will be the PS5 that wins to find out why continue reading

PRICE

Sony hasn’t officially confirmed a PS5 price yet and, according to the company, that’s because it hasn’t actually decided how much the next-gen console will cost. While Sony may not have a price nailed down, there have been rumours about how much the PS5 could cost. One such rumour has suggested that the console will cost $499 in North America when it launches. I also think that the price will depend on the price of the Xbox Series X. I hope they don’t make it crazy high priced cause that would be real bad.

SPECS

There is not much that I could find but what I could is here.

  • Bespoke 8-core AMD chipset (based on third-generation Ryzen architecture and with Navi GPU)
  • SSD storage system
  • Backwards compatibility with PS4 games and PSVR hardware
  • 3D audio
  • 8K TV support

The PS5 will benefit from simplified data management due to its SSD, and this will allow players to have more control over installing and removing games, for example by allowing players to install (or remove) only certain parts of a game – so instead of installing the full game, you could choose to just install the single-player mode and then do multiplayer later, or vice versa. This is going to be good because a lot of people (including myself) own a PS4 and since I own a lot of games for it I do not want it to go to waste. PlayStation finally made up for the mistake that brought the PS4 down. I cannot wait for the confirmed specs. I mean picture the graphics you see today and imagine them improved I never thiught that it was possible.

DESIGN

There have been a lot of leaked images of the PS5 dev kit, with each showing the same console design. There are a number of buttons: on/standby, reset, eject (for the double-layer 100GB-reading Blu-ray drive), system initialization and network initialization, all on the front-left. There are also a number of status lights, numbered ‘0’ to ‘7’, which likely relate to CPU cores engaged, but which could also be status lights for controllers connected. To the right are six USB ports (one USB 2.0 and five likely USB 3.0 ports – the final port being obscured by a cable). A small circle above could well be a camera built into the console, according to earlier patent filings.

CONTROLLER

The PS5 controller (we don’t know the official name yet) will include haptic feedback to replace the DualShock 4’s rumble technology, designed to improve the controller’s feedback and therefore player immersion. The PS5 controller will also feature adaptive triggers, which Sony says have “been incorporated into the trigger buttons (L2/R2)”. These adaptive triggers will allow developers to program the resistance of the triggers to simulate actions more accurately. It also looks like the stereo headset jack and extension port at the bottom of the headset have been replaced by two larger circular ports. We think these will still be for plugging in headsets, but the two jacks could be headphone and microphone slots respectively, to expand compatibility with headsets. There’s also a rectangular design that seems to wrap around the headset, which is potentially for compatibility with a charging dock. Overall it’s gonna be good and once you play with it there’s no going back.

GAMES

The entire PS4 library, including PSVR games, will be supported by the PS5. At this point, any first-party PS4 game in the pipeline – from Ghost of Tsushima to The Last of Us 2, would be prime candidates for PS5 cross-gen upgrades. We’ve also heard enough chatter around a Horizon Zero Dawn sequel and new God of War game to assume we’ll be seeing both land on the PS5 console. I think I’m going to get the console to play the new God of War or TLOUS2 if they don’t release them on the PS4 other than that I’m going to wait to see till there are good games on the console then get the PS5.

REVEAL RUMORS

With Microsoft having officially revealed the Xbox Series X, we’re waiting with bated breath for Sony to unveil the PlayStation 5. While the company isn’t giving much away about when that’ll be, there are several rumours which suggest a PS5 reveal event will take place in February. While Sony never confirmed these rumours, there have been other leaks which also suggest February for a PS5 reveal, even if the exact dates aren’t the same. All signs are pointing to a February reveal. Sony needs to reveal the PS5 fast and the fact that the Xbox Series X is already unveiled only speeds up the process. I can’t wait to see what the official console looks like.

So guys that is all I could find on the Ps5 let me know down in the comments which features you liked best. My favourite is the backword compatibility and the new controller.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this. Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

Every delayed game in 2020 and why it’s a good thing.

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. I just found out that some games got delayed this year some of which I was desperately waiting for. Though disappointed I still think that this is a good thing why I’ll show you.

Marvel’s Avengers

Marvel’s Avengers was supposed to come out on May 15, but Square Enix delayed it by several months. This delay was attributed to ensuring that developer Crystal Dynamics would deliver the “ultimate Avengers gaming experience.” This extra time will be spent fine-tuning and polishing the game. I really really wanted this game being a big fan of Marvel but again I really want to play the game at its best so I guess a few more months of torture is viable.

Release date: September 4, 2020

Cyberpunk 2077

This didn’t come as a huge surprise, but it was disappointing. CD Projekt RED delayed Cyberpunk 2077 from its initial release date on April 16, 2020. In the announcement regarding its delay, CD Projekt RED simply said that though the game is “complete and playable,” there is still a lot of work to be done. This is certainly one of the most ambitious projects of CD Projekt RED but I seriously can’t wait for this game and I’m really hoping they deliver on this delay.

Release date: September 17, 2020

Doom Eternal

Just a month before it was set to initially release in Nov. 2019, Bethesda bumped back the release date of Doom Eternal into 2020. Developer id Software wants Doom Eternal to live up to its standard of polish. Now it shares a release date with Animal Crossing: New Horizons, a game that couldn’t be more different if it tried. I wasn’t really ever a fan of doom but I wanted to wait for this one a few months so I can see if it’s worth my time. Needless to say this delay doesn’t hurt me that much.

Release date: March 20, 2020

Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 can’t seem to catch a break. It was supposed to hit consoles and PC sometime in Spring 2020, but Techland has since delayed it indefinitely, with no word on a new release date. I am still playing the original Dying Light and I’m thinking about not picking this one up. All we can do is stay tuned for more details in the coming months. Let’s just hope it doesn’t land in development hell.

Release date: TBD (Delayed indefinitely)

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Another unsurprising delay; the first part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake won’t make its planned launch of March 3, 2020. Luckily, Square Enix only delayed it by about a month, so we won’t be waiting too long to get our hands on the highly anticipated remake. I want this and I will have it no matter the cost. The original FF7 was great and I just wish to experience that again in this great remake.

Release date: April 10, 2020

Gods & Monsters

The developers behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey have been hard at work on Gods & Monsters, but the game still needs a bit more time to cook before it’s ready. Ubisoft went and delayed several games to its 2020-2021 fiscal year, and Gods & Monsters happened to be one of them. I just wish this game is released in 2020 cause my wallet will already be hurt will all the games coming out in 2020.

Release date: Between April 2020 and March 2021

The Last of Us Part II

I genuinely felt bad for this delay because Naughty Dog set up a whole event to unveil The Last of Us Part II’s release date, making a huge deal that was is coming out in February…. only for it to be delayed a couple of months later. The Last of Us Part II is now expected at the end of May. I will pick this game up cause ever since I played the original and the trailer for this one dropped I want to see the continuation of the original masterpiece.

Release date: May 29, 2020

Rainbow Six Quarantine

We don’t know a lot about Rainbow Six Quarantine, and we may not learn more for a bit now. It was supposed to release before the end of Ubisoft’s fiscal year — April 2020 — but it has since been pushed to an undetermined date during the next fiscal year. I don’t know if I will ever pick this up that will depend on the reviews.

Release date: Between April 2020 and March 2021

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

Fans have eagerly awaited over a decade for this sequel to the cult classic. It was initially scheduled to hit store shelves in March 2020 but was delayed until sometime later in the year at an unspecified date. I was thinking that I will pick this up after I finish my exams in March but here comes disappointment.

Release date: Late 2020

Watch Dogs: Legion

Watch Dogs: Legion was set to take us to a post-Brexit London on March 6, 2020, but it was also delayed to Ubisoft’s fiscal 2020-2021 year. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot attributed the delays to give the teams “more development time to ensure that their respective innovations are perfectly implemented.” This and TLOU 2 are the only games that I wanted in 2020 no matter what but seeing the sheer opportunities and the vastness that the game offers would well prefer a complete game than a broken one.

Release date: Between April 2020 and March 2021

Honestly it breaks my heart that so many games will not be able to come out early this year some of which I was desperately waiting for. But I would prefer a complete game over a broken game any day. Most of the games I played in 2019 had bugs and huge day 1 updates which really annoyed me because when I come home after buying a game I prefer to put it in the disk slot wait a few mins for installation and play not download a huge 20GB update which fixes game breaking bugs. I am prepared to wait a few months for a game provided I don’t have to download huge updates cause they take up space and I have to remove them for new games and if I want to play that game again I need to download it again. Let’s hope we get rid of the Day 1 update culture.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this. Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

What I learnt from my first visit to an ENT

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. So, last night I had severe ear pain which I supressed using pain killers and I decided to go see a doctor about it. I found out my left ear had a fungal infection and that the fungus needed to be removed.

The doctor was blunt and truthful and I respect that but he could have put in a little more effort in making me feel better. Anyways those instruments I saw lying on his table were my real fear. I haven’t really feared needles but those things on his tables were like torture instruments to me. The doctor sat me down looked in my ear and told me that he can remove the fungus but it will cause me a little bit of pain, emphasis on little. The procedure began he applied a little antiseptic all was well until came the time to pull out the fungus which was where the pain began. He took forceps and slowly started to remove bits and pieces which had come out then came the time for the big one and I was scared he held the fungus with his forceps and pulled and I was in pain to the point where I screamed and asked him to stop but he did not and relentlessly pulled till it was out of my ear. Tears were streaming down my face all of pain as he pulled out and showed me the fungus and it was THE most disgusting thing I have ever seen in my life and to think that it came out of my ear was even worse. I would not have shown the picture here even if I had it because it would be a crime against humanity. He applied a little medicine and wrote me some tablets and told me to see him after a week.

Why I am telling you guys this is because it were his parting words that put thing into perspective. His words being ‘I’m sorry if I was a bit harsh but had that thing been in there any longer it would have made you deaf.’ And he rushed out me being his last patient of the day. While getting my medicines I really understood that :

Sometimes we need to bear a little pain in the present to prevent great pain in the future.

You never know how your pain has been minimized by God for your comfort yet we are always ungrateful for the little pain we get and never see what greater pain we could have gotten.

Now I know most of you might not agree with me and I say don’t but just because my truth is not your truth doesn’t mean either of us are wrong. I just thought that ungratefulness is such a problem now a days that I should put out my story to inspire people to be thankful for what they have.

Also another thing I want people to learn is to search for lessons in every experience they get be it a failure or a success because a failure is only a failure because you didn’t learn anything from it and a success is a success because you applied what you learnt from your failures.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this. Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

ONLINE CHATROOMS BOON OR BANE

Hey guys what is up welcome or welcome back to my blog thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this. So I decided to use online chatrooms to connect with new people and promote my content.

I began using E-chat a site where you can join different chatrooms, talk to the people there and even personal message them. The top 2 sites were filled with bots texting about sites for ‘FUN’ which were obviously fakes to steal people’s credit card details. There were many rooms, people to connect with. I used it for 3 days and I have made some good friends and a lot I mean a lot of horny and creepy people.

The main disadvantage I felt was that till a room admin was on a person could not be banned. This gave trolls the opportunity to pick on people, harass them and be the cyber bully. To all those who think that cyber bullying is not a thing ‘no offense but you are so wrong’. Though this was bad the rooms with active admins flourished where people who genuinely wanted to connect could come together as a community.

The option to choose who you receive personal messages from was great if you are being harassed by someone in your PM’s you can put them in your ignore list and they cannot bother you again unless you are in the same room. Also the option to choose that only people who you have friended can personal message you is a life saver for people getting hit on constantly.

I do not want to say this but there was one big problem of addiction. I was literally addicted to it always checking it for messages I even forgot about my daily post. This was the first time I had ever done that. I was so excited about branching out into a new community that I completely forgot about my already existing community.

The site was exciting and the bonds I’ve formed there are few but strong. If the trolls are kept in control and people are careful of scams the room is a real boon for those who want anonymity and a conversation. The bad part is that by the use of guest accounts people are phishing and cyberbullying that needs to be dealt with. Overall my experience was nice and the effort I put in certainly bore fruit.

MY advice be wary of scams, deal with trolls and connect with the great community of chatrooms. Sorry for making this one short I’m sick but i had to write for you gugs. I promise I’ll make the next post longer.

Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.

WHY DID DAYS GONE GET BAD REVIEWS ???

Whether it’s the most anticipated game of the year or one I never heard of I always watch a review by some of the most famous companies like IGN and Gamespot to name a few of a game before buying it but this time I realized maybe we are being played. Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this.

So, last year I was desperately waiting for Days Gone as I thought the game to be super interesting and awesome but then came along the IGN review saying and I quote “Yet through its 60-odd-hour ride, Days Gone loses its focus with repetitive missions, a meandering and thematically unsatisfying storyline, and an excess of bugs and busywork. When you slow down for a minute or two, these issues combine with a dreary, uninteresting open world and add up to an uneven and mostly toothless zombie experience”. I was like ‘ok every game has faults let’s read the full review then I’ll see if I want to buy it’. The review got worse and worse almost like taking out a grudge on the game. I decided to not buy the game until recently when I picked up the game for a discounted price and boy was it good. It surpassed all my experctations which were lowered by the reviews to be honest but to discover that they were wrong was a surprise. My main concern was the repetitive missions which after playing I found out each had a story connected to them and gave you rewards. Fewer attacks on the road, supplies were all things that drove me to complete these camps which each had a same base structure but cool different tweaks and opportunities of their own. An example would be clearing out a Marauder camp but unlike others you can blow up this one’s defences for a horde to burst through it. The main aspect of the game is the experimentation as each player has a different approach to things and does things differently. The encampment missions which were ‘all the same’ actually had a story of why they needed to be killed and were not just mindless massacres. The bounty missions were my personal favourites.

The freaker nests which were described as too vast in number and useless were rewarding allowing players to fast travel and players who preferred to ‘power through’ don’t understand the meaning of FAST travel that’s the point put some time and effort to burn down the nests and save a lot of time later when we have to travel to one end of the map from another. The players who did not burn the nests would have to ‘power through’ to almost the destination which would be inefficient and destroy the purpose of FAST travel.

The story which is described as ‘a movie that goes on for an hour longer than it needs to or should’ve.’ Is actually a well crafted masterpiece that I wish I had more of. The concept of missions is quiet different in Days Gone which made reviewers who had to just get through it for the review not understand it and instead hate it. The story if experience properly and slowly taking everything in is not the best but definitely good. The flashbacks are the best part showing us a younger and much more innocent Deacon which shows us the character development. The world is not exactly brimming with things to do but there are definitely things to do which make the world worth exploring but the exploring is mostly to experience the scenery and graphics of the game so I understand if people find it boring.

The combat is fun, the gun fights are the basic cover and shoot but the horde fights are the real fun. They can be dealt with in any way ranging from a sprint, shoot , sprint repeat or tactically placing bombs and traps to take out the horde with style. The hordes have patterns themselves so they can waited for at a spot or their cave can be rigged while they are out at night.

The point is Days Gone has a lot to offer and it depends on the player how they want to experience it. I fell it is unjust to judge a game on it’s first few hours of gameplay and by a single person who has a specific playstyle. Many people did not ever pick up days game despite being hyped for it because the reviews suggested that it was not worth playing. Each player has a different perspective and playstyle and games should be judged on how they can be played and what they have to offer and not a rushed gameplay by someone who’s playstyle is not suited to the game. The developers also need to release a full game without bugs or at least minimum bugs so that the game can be enjoyed to the fullest.

The end Verdict is that an unfair judging system for games that needs to be changed and developers who released a game with bugs which did not allow the game to be experienced the best way is what got Days Gone it’s bad reviews. I recommend everyone to at least try it out as it is a gem which is unfairly treated.

Review of THE SUBTLE ART OF NOT GIVING A F*CK

Hey guys welcome back thank you for taking out the time from your day to read my blog. Yes, Yes I know this might seem strange but I honestly had nothing to write about and my friends told me that since I read so many books why not review them. So let’s get into it.

The book contains stories with morals (not those kid ones) and I was in love by the time I finished the first chapter named ‘Don’t Try’. It explains that hitting success does not mean that a person will improve but usually self-improvement is followed by success but it may not always be so. It was awesome how Mark Manson (The author) beautifully researches stories, cultures and gives anecdotes of his own life to craft a masterpiece which teaches people about self-worth and how to stop caring about other people’s opinions. This book personally helps me a lot. He talks about Happiness being a problem and how people are not really happy but want affirmation from others which makes them happy. Then comes a reality check a Chapter titles ‘You are not special’ where he exposes the stories that everyone can be a great person and all the shitty motivators. He then talks about the value of suffering and how suffering is caused and how we need good values to survive. Then comes a chapter on choices and what are things on which we make choices and how there is no ‘How’.

Then he talks about everyone always being wrong and how different things are from different perspectives and how people need to be a little less certain of themselves. Then he talks about failure being the way forward and my favourite thing in the book the ‘Failure/Success paradox’. Then a chapter I shared greatly ‘The importance of saying no’ and building trust and boundaries. The last chapter is titled ‘….And then you Die’ and this chapter changed my perspective on death showing me a sunny side of death.

This is all I could say without typing out the whole book. I hope you liked this post and are thinking about buying the book I really recommend it. That is it hit me up on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn with your thoughts. I am going to do a lot more of these see you next week.

IKIGAI

Hey guys welcome back to my blog hope you guys are having an amazing start to the New Year thank you for taking out the time from your day to read this. Now I know the title may seem a little strange to some of you some you may know what it means, some of you may have googled it.

Ikigai it is a Japanese concept that translates to ‘a reason to live’. So I got this book ‘life’s amazing secrets’ By Gaur Gopal Das (You should check it out it is absolutely amazing) and this concept of Ikigai was introduced to me in there and I was fascinated by it. The thought that the Japanese have a whole concept on it blows my mind. Firstly , because I am a fan of Japanese culture and Gaur Gopal Das’s teachings so the 2 rolled in one for me was a real pleasure and the fact that I started this blog with one motive to tell people that ‘It’s never too late to start calling your own shots’ is so in sync with this teaching I just had to tell you guys about it.

So, Ikigai is not just about doing what you love as you may have seen from the chart it is really about answering 4 questions and finding balance between them these questions are:

What do you love?

What are you good at?

What does the world need?

What can you get paid for?

Finding the balance between the 4 is the route to having a life that one looks forward to living. Not everybody’s purpose will appear to have an impact on the world at first. You do not need to give up everything or make dramatic changes to start living your purpose. Your purpose does not neccesarily mean your job either. Love your job but keep a side hustle that makes you happy remember happiness is the key you do not want to have a side hustle just for the sake of having it you have to love it and it must serve the world too There are endless opportunities these days to follow your passion and live your purpose the internet is at your fingertips. If you want to know what is your purposr I recommend listening to Jay Shetty’s podcasts. There is line that he says that I absolutely love ‘When you do what you love it is your passion and when you use your passion to serve others it becomes a purpose’. There are a lot of Ikigai worksheets online that you can use but I found the one used in the book is the best.

That is it for this post guys keep growing, keep spreading positivity and most of all remember ‘It’s never too late to start calling your own shots’. Thank you for reading hit me up on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn if you have any questions or  tell me if you have any suggestions on what I should write next. Thank you and I’ll see you all next time.

RANT ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Hey guys welcome back to my blog happy holidays hope you are having an amazing day and even amazing holidays. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this post. New year is coming up hope you all have a very happy and safe new year do today I was cleaning out some old files on my laptop and found a word file where I would went all my feelings this is an extract from there so be sure to check it out hope you enjoy.

In this pitiful generation people stare down at their phones more than they sleep this technology revolution is being misused yes but not in the way most people think. The main reason phones and other electronics are misused are because people are not educated on their use. The thing with revolutions is that they are always suppressed the people should know that revolutions cannot be suppressed for long and instead of trying to stop the flow of a river let it carry you because sooner or later you will perish trying to do it . The correct use of technology is getting information building brand doing business and many many other things but its not using Instagram to hate on celebrities posts Its to use Instagram to provide value to an audience that comes to you . On the invention of Facebook 90 percent people ridiculed the people for having a Facebook accounts and now the 10 percent that do not have a Facebook account are ridiculed. If we stop opposing technology but instead change the intentions with which we use the technology we will succeed as better human beings because technological advancements are going to be needed in this world no matter what so instead of trying to stop a river from destroying your village divert its flow so that your village can use that water. The people who ridicule tik tok, Linkedin and other up and coming apps are missing out because history has a habit of repeating itself. People did try to stop Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram but now it is integral part of our lives.

The technology is not the problem your intent of what you want to do with it is.

That is it for this post guys take note that this is just a few months old and this is just my view so no need to get offended by it also hit me up if you want to debate on this. Hit me up on twitter or Instagram and tell me how you liked this post and if you have any suggestions on what I should write next. Also tell me if I should post the others like this because I have a ton of them. Thank you for reading this your support means a lot so please like, comment and share with all your friends. Have a great day and an amazing week.

You can gift this and the pen set as a pack. I got one from my friend and I absolutely adore it every time I pull it out to write I smile. This will also help you not look cheap just in case your insecure about that. In any case this is a perfect gift.

Books

Seriously just because we are writers does not mean that we do not read in fact it’s the opposite we love to read everyday just so that we do not fail to admire other’s work also reading is good for everyone just make sure they don’t have the book you are giving them. So if you’re confused just go to the book store and get them a book.

Noise cancelling headphones

OH I absolutely LOVE these I pull them out every time I’m in a coffee shop and inspiration strikes or when I just cannot seem to find any peace and quiet in my own house. I cannot tell you how badly every writer needs these plus everybody need headphones. These can get a bit expensive so choose wisely.

A subscription or online course

A subscription to a magazine or an online course can seriously help someone not only writers but everybody. Buy them an online writing course and see them be grateful for eternity. A subscription to their favourite magazine or a new magazine will also do.

Kindle unlimited

Kindle books don’t need a kindle they can be read on phones, tabs, laptops so get them a subscription and see the magic better yet if you want to spend some serious cash get them a kindle now that will flip them out.

Scented candles

I cannot stress the use of these enough whether its hitting the bed after a tiring day or during writing these candles make the atmosphere pleasant trust me I’ve experienced it. The relaxing experience definitely will make them grateful to you.

Gift cards

If you do not know what to get or are out of time just get them a gift card and they’ll pick something out for themselves always works. Trust me this is the best idea if you don’t know the person’s taste or they’re took picky.

Anyways that is it for this post I hope you guys enjoyed and are ready to pick out a gift fot that eriter friend. Hit me up on twitter or Instagram and tell me how you liked this post and if you have any suggestions on what I should write next. Happy Holidays once again I’ll see you guys in the next post and have a nice weekend.

INTERVIEW WITH IVAN SCOTT

Hello guys welcome to my blog I am so thankful for each of you that took the time out of their day to read this. So, a few days ago I reached out to Ivan Scott author of the book Redhead in a blue convertible and he agreed to give me an interview for my blog being an aspiring writer myself i felt that there was a lot of value in this and hoped to share this with you guys so here are the answers he gave.

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I had the itch for as long as I can remember.  There was one day in the 3rd grade when we were supposed to write a story and I based mine off of what was going on in the classroom.

I have always had a thing for looking at life and creating a story about it.  No matter if I am driving around Atlanta and see all the tall buildings and think about the people who work there and who they are and what their lives are like, or being in an airport or mall and people watch and wonder who they are, where they are going and why.

Every person and place has a story and that is something all writers have their radar tuned to.

How long did it take you to write your book?

As strange as it sounds, it took me four months to write but the real work came in the edits and re-writes.  I had a limited budget (Um…zero budget) so I could not afford a professional editor to read my full manuscript since that would have been thousands of dollars, so I researched a Plan B which turned out to be what is called Beta Readers.

Beta Readers read your manuscript for free.  You usually trade with them so you help each other out, and they point out grammar, plot holes and other things you need that a professional editor does.

I finished writing at the end of February, then took the spring and summer to edit it, then do an audio book, which I read and edited myself, and it was finally ready in October so it was about a year process.

What was your work schedule like when you were writing?

It was difficult since I work full-time and have a family.  I would write at night when the kids were asleep, or I would wake up at four or five in the morning since that was one of the few times the house was quiet and I could concentrate.

It was important I carried a pen and paper with me no matter where I was so if I had a free moment, or if an idea came into my head, I could write it down.

Another thing that added to time management is I am Dyslexic.  It takes me a little longer to write and make the sentences make sense, but the good thing is having this condition brings more creativity to the process so I don’t look at this as a challenge, but a strength.  I think with all things that can be looked at as a weakness, we can always turn them into strengths.

Did your childhood have any effect on you discovering your passion for writing or affect your writing in any way ?

As mentioned earlier, my childhood was the start of my passion for writing, but it wasn’t anything traumatic took me down this road.

As I look back on life, my childhood does effect my writing since I have the wisdom of age and experience to look back on those innocent days and wonder how life has changed me.

I think with everyone as we grow older, it hits us that time has passed and we are no longer the person we once were.  The other thing is it dawns on us all that life always moves forward, never backward and once it has passed, you never get that time back.

This fact has always intrigued me, and that’s one of the themes of Redhead, that life passes all of us, and we have to appreciate and savoir it because once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.

Where did you get the idea for your book from?

I read a story about an older woman who called a Taxi late at night.  When the driver arrived she had her bags packed and looked like she was going on a trip.

The driver assumed she was going to the airport and was surprised when the lady asked to go to some places around town, like an old school, a dance hall and a church and cemetery.

The trip lasted late into the night and the lady told the driver where to go since it was their last stop.  They pulled up to an assisted living facility, and the lady got out, took her bags, thanked the driver and went inside, knowing she was never coming out, but was happy she got to see all the places that were special to her before she did.

It got me to thinking where would I go and who would I see if I had one day to do it.  That was the inspiration behind Redhead, and that was a man had one day to see and do everything he loved so he savored every moment, knowing it would be his last.

What was the thing that annoyed you the most during the time you were writing your book?

Seeing typos after I had reviewed a paragraph with a fine toothed comb! Haha

I also think that when I would get into a good writing groove and then something would pop up, like the kids fighting, or the dog needing to be taken out, or I had fatherly/husband duties.

What is your favorite book that you have read?

It would have to be The Old Man and the Sea.  I know it is not a favorite of some, but it hit home with me since it dealt with someone who knew his best days had passed, but was having one last moment in the sun.

On the non-fiction side, Franklin and Winston is a favorite.  It looks at the relationship FDR and Winston had during WW2 and how it evolved.  I was surprised to learn it was not always  harmonious, especially when Stalin came on the scene.

Do you think writer’s block is real?

I respect those who believe it is real, but for me, it doesn’t exist.

With Writer’s Block, sure, there are times when I cannot think of an idea that makes sense or is compelling, but sooner or later it comes, so I don’t fear it.

When I get stuck, I will walk outside and get away from my laptop and the story.  Or I go people watching.  I might see two people holding hands and think of what their story could be and the creative process is born.  Then, I can come back to the original story and attack it.

Besides, if I cannot add to my story, I’ll just begin writing something else.  Eventually, the creative juices begin flowing and I can get back to it.

I often use Hemingway’s strategy of not finishing a chapter or an idea.  I leave it open, so when I begin writing the next time, I have something to build on, instead of starting cold.

What was your hardest scene to write in the book and why?

I think the scene when Sarah’s Mom disowns her.  I even teared up a little reading the words because they were so real, so raw, and I could never imagine saying that to my children.

Who were your childhood icons?

My childhood heroes were all athletes since I grew up playing sports.

Lou Gehrig, the Yankees star who dies of ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease as it was called, is still one of my favorites due to the way he dealt with the illness and remained stoic and classy through it all.

Tips for young authors out there who might be reading this?

The biggest thing is to have fun and enjoy the ride.  Writing and telling the world a story is a wonderful experience and knowing you have created something that will last a lifetime, even after your time on Earth has ended, is something that nobody can ever take away from you.

But also remember that success will never be given to you.  Everything you get, you will have to earn.  Sooner or later, life is going to smack you in the mouth.  When it does, don’t worry about it.

You will get rejected, you will face adversity, you will doubt yourself, but never give up.

If you have to stop for a day, then do so.  Then wake up the next morning, take a deep breath and say, “Today is a new day.  And I am a day closer to living my dream.”  Get back on your feet and keep chasing your dream.

So that is it for this post hope you guys enjoyed and got a lot of value out of this. You can DM Ivan on his Instagram @author.ivan.scott for any more questions. Be sure to hit me up on Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram with what you learned from this and what value you got also I am open to suggestions as to what I should write next so you can text me that. I’ll see you guys in the next blog post.

PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS

Hello guys welcome or welcome back to my blog I am so grateful that you took time out of your day to read my post today I bring a few basic tips for those aspiring photographers out there and also just tips to click nice photos in general. So lets get started:

  1. Hold the camera steady : I am surprised by how many people just cannot hold a camera stable and complain about blurry shots cursing the camera . Seriously, you can have the fanciest lens and camera but if you don’t know how to hold it it’s all useless.
  2. Buy a tripod: This is for people who are ready to splurge on gear a tripod really helps stabilize a shot more than any human hands. If you cannot buy a tripod don’t worry you can still click great pictures with your skill, you can also use flat surfaces for setting up your camera to substitute a tripod like a book or table indoors and flat rocks outside.
  3. Invest more in education less on gear: If you have money to splurge on gear don’t spend it all on the gear rather get what is required and use the rest on courses and education you can go to exhibitions to view other photographer’s work and take notes.
  4. Go out: You’ll learn the best from mistakes you make so go out and click a few photos show them to friends take constructive criticism and try again remember ‘It’s only a failure if you didn’t learn anything from it’. You can also use the money saved on gear to travel a little in your town though I rather prefer walking around.
  5. Take a few gigs: This ties in with the last point, a few odd jobs like a photoshoot of a friend or nature photography for a contest really helps you give your best and gain experience.
  6. Use your phone if you don’t have a camera – I myself clicked photos with my phone for a long time before I decided to get a camera. So, go out with your phone click a few pictures and see if you like it the grind of going out and searching for places and taking time to click that perfect photo.
  7. Learn to use the pro mode on your phone: I cannot stress this enough just messing around with this mode and seeing what each feature does helped me when I bought a camera as I already knew what to set the shutter speed and iso to in order to click good pictures.
  8. Be patient: I mean this in many ways firstly have patience when clicking a photo to align the frame a bit more and remember your photos don’t have to be perfect they just have to be better than your last one. Secondly, Don’t expect to win your first contest on your first try or think people will be flocking you to hire you to I mean it is possible just the chances of it happening are not very likely.

That is it for the photography tips I will be posting some of the photos I take on my Instagram so stay tuned for that also DM me to tell me which tip helped you the most and also I have an interview with Ivan Scott author of the book ‘Redhead in a blue convertible’ coming up as the next post of the blog so be sure to check out the next post. Thank you for reading this to the end.

Struggles of being a writer

Hey guys welcome or welcome back today I am writing about the struggles of being a writer so be sure to check it out, subscribe for more content and dm me on Instagram on what I should write next or any other suggestions.

  1. Inspiration – It seems to hit at literally the most weird times like at night when I hit my bed to catch some sleep but I get the most thoughtful idea ever and open my laptop to type it out only to discover that I gave up my whole night’s sleep to write a post just like I am doing right now.
  2. Forgetting ideas – I personally hate when this happens to me like when I’m in the shower and I get a brilliant idea I think that I will not forget it but by the time I get out , dry off and open my laptop ready to write my mind is blank.
  3. Not having time to write – I personally made a promise that I would write 10 mins everyday so that I don’t get rusty but I cannot seem to keep that appointment as there is always something that gets in the way.
  4. Relatable memes – I find so many relatable memes and articles that I find funny which when I send to my friends they’re like what does that even mean , is that possible. Like this article might be relatable to some of you but some of you might not have a clue of what the fuck I am talking about
  5. Going out vs Staying in – The eternal struggle should I go out with my friends so that I can get out of the house and have some fun or stay in and write that one more page or that one idea. Alas, I don’t have the answer for this one but I try to keep a balance.
  6. No serious friends – No one seems to believe that I can write or that this blog will hit off and I will ever have an audience but the few people that do read you are my motivation to keep writing.
  7. Searching the weirdest stuff – So I am currently working on my first story and I needed to kill off a character and I was literally googling ways to kill people so that I can know my ideas work. I’m pretty sure my sanity would be questioned should my google searches ever be released.
  8. Every idea seems to have been taken – So I got really cool ideas but guess what when I google them I see tons of post already on it but it’s also a good thing as it makes me push extra hard to deliver new content.
  9. Scrapping the first draft – This was the thing I experienced upon writing my story the first draft and finished product are 2 completely different things and it sometimes pains me to know that the first draft could have been an entirely different story had I not deleted it.
  10. People giving ideas – I mean don’t get me wrong I like that people give me ideas just not the fact that they think that it will be so successful and keep pestering me to write about it. They’re like ‘this is what people like to read’ or ‘I guarantee this will get you recognition’.
  11. People asking what book you have written – I hate this this is literally the worst when I’m at a family function and I tell people that I’m a writer they’re ‘like well what book have you written’ ‘I haven’t OK I write on this little thing call blog ever heard of it no thought so’

There you have it the struggles of being a writer that is it for today hope you guys enjoyed I am so thankful for each and every one of you for taking time out of your day to read my blog. Stay tuned for more.
