Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe and healthy. I was interested in the plot of this anime but the animation was a big turn off for the first few episodes so if you cannot watch CGI then I will not recommend this anime but if you can then read ahead. MILD SPOILERS AHEAD.

Kaina lives in a world where people build houses on trees and the land is a mebrane like substance which is called the Canopy. This world gets its water from the Orbital Spire Trees, giant trees where the villagers built their home. However the canopy is high up in the air and below it lies the Great Snow Sea, an endless sea of snow. The people of the Canopy believe that life cannot exist down at the Snow Sea however down below countries are formed at the foot of the Orbital Spire Trees. Princess Ririha of Atland travels up the Canopy to look for the Sage, a being who she was told stories of by her mother in an attempt to save her country against the cruel Valghia who is attacking them for their water which is in the Orbital Spire Tree that Atland is built on. Ririha meets Kaina at the Canopy and the two team up to go down to the Great Snow Sea, a journey that will save the country of Atland.
This is a series that focuses much more on story progression than characters so the characters are really generic and don’t have that much depth. There’s the curious Kaina of the Canopy, a man who was supposed to simply serve as Ririha’s guide but ends up doing a lot more, however he’s more of a do things as they come type of person, a little bland. The Princess of Atland, Ririha has a bit of personality as her desperation to save her country is evident every time she tries her hardest for the slimmest of hopes that Atland can be saved from Valghia. The Valghian general Amelothee is also another character that is well written, her dynamic with the Atland elite warrior Orinoga is something that was good to watch,
The setting of a dying fantasy world due to the lack of water is a great one and despite the bad animation making the characters look stiff and really bad, they did manage to make the scenes of the world and the environment look amazing, it really invoked a sense of awe when you saw it. The anime knows how to keep the story interesting enough to keep you waiting for that next episode however the best thing was the fights which were few but each fight was absolutely amazing to watch. The fantasy world had immense and I do mean immense world building potential, they could have revealed so much lore and so many other things about the state of the world however I think that they were just confused between whether to go the fantasy or the lost advanced technology route and in the end just gave us a bad mix of both.
The anime is really simple and straight forward, it doesn’t go all that deep into anything however the one thing that I did learn was how fun a simple story could be sometimes, even though the story is predictable at times or the lore is so bad that you don’t understand anything about the world of the story, it’s just nice to see an adventure that is simple.
With 11 episodes, the anime is a short watch with a predictable yet good finale, it’s fun to watch if you can look past the bad animation but that’s all it is, a fantasy adventure for you to watch when you’re bored and just want to watch something that you can turn your mind off to. Do not go in expecting a lot but it’s still good entertainment, I’ll rate this one a 6/10.
So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this. Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram and Twitter with your thoughts and if you have any ideas on what I should write about. Stay safe. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.
