What I learnt from my first visit to an ENT

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. So, last night I had severe ear pain which I supressed using pain killers and I decided to go see a doctor about it. I found out my left ear had a fungal infection and that the fungus needed to be removed.

The doctor was blunt and truthful and I respect that but he could have put in a little more effort in making me feel better. Anyways those instruments I saw lying on his table were my real fear. I haven’t really feared needles but those things on his tables were like torture instruments to me. The doctor sat me down looked in my ear and told me that he can remove the fungus but it will cause me a little bit of pain, emphasis on little. The procedure began he applied a little antiseptic all was well until came the time to pull out the fungus which was where the pain began. He took forceps and slowly started to remove bits and pieces which had come out then came the time for the big one and I was scared he held the fungus with his forceps and pulled and I was in pain to the point where I screamed and asked him to stop but he did not and relentlessly pulled till it was out of my ear. Tears were streaming down my face all of pain as he pulled out and showed me the fungus and it was THE most disgusting thing I have ever seen in my life and to think that it came out of my ear was even worse. I would not have shown the picture here even if I had it because it would be a crime against humanity. He applied a little medicine and wrote me some tablets and told me to see him after a week.

Why I am telling you guys this is because it were his parting words that put thing into perspective. His words being ‘I’m sorry if I was a bit harsh but had that thing been in there any longer it would have made you deaf.’ And he rushed out me being his last patient of the day. While getting my medicines I really understood that :

Sometimes we need to bear a little pain in the present to prevent great pain in the future.

You never know how your pain has been minimized by God for your comfort yet we are always ungrateful for the little pain we get and never see what greater pain we could have gotten.

Now I know most of you might not agree with me and I say don’t but just because my truth is not your truth doesn’t mean either of us are wrong. I just thought that ungratefulness is such a problem now a days that I should put out my story to inspire people to be thankful for what they have.

Also another thing I want people to learn is to search for lessons in every experience they get be it a failure or a success because a failure is only a failure because you didn’t learn anything from it and a success is a success because you applied what you learnt from your failures.

So that is it for this post guys hope you got some value from this. Thank you guys for reading to the end hit me up on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn with your thoughts and if you have any ideas which I should write about. Thank you again and I’ll see you all next week.
