Review of THE SUBTLE ART OF NOT GIVING A F*CK

Hey guys welcome back thank you for taking out the time from your day to read my blog. Yes, Yes I know this might seem strange but I honestly had nothing to write about and my friends told me that since I read so many books why not review them. So let’s get into it.

The book contains stories with morals (not those kid ones) and I was in love by the time I finished the first chapter named ‘Don’t Try’. It explains that hitting success does not mean that a person will improve but usually self-improvement is followed by success but it may not always be so. It was awesome how Mark Manson (The author) beautifully researches stories, cultures and gives anecdotes of his own life to craft a masterpiece which teaches people about self-worth and how to stop caring about other people’s opinions. This book personally helps me a lot. He talks about Happiness being a problem and how people are not really happy but want affirmation from others which makes them happy. Then comes a reality check a Chapter titles ‘You are not special’ where he exposes the stories that everyone can be a great person and all the shitty motivators. He then talks about the value of suffering and how suffering is caused and how we need good values to survive. Then comes a chapter on choices and what are things on which we make choices and how there is no ‘How’.

Then he talks about everyone always being wrong and how different things are from different perspectives and how people need to be a little less certain of themselves. Then he talks about failure being the way forward and my favourite thing in the book the ‘Failure/Success paradox’. Then a chapter I shared greatly ‘The importance of saying no’ and building trust and boundaries. The last chapter is titled ‘….And then you Die’ and this chapter changed my perspective on death showing me a sunny side of death.

This is all I could say without typing out the whole book. I hope you liked this post and are thinking about buying the book I really recommend it. That is it hit me up on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn with your thoughts. I am going to do a lot more of these see you next week.
