PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS

Hello guys welcome or welcome back to my blog I am so grateful that you took time out of your day to read my post today I bring a few basic tips for those aspiring photographers out there and also just tips to click nice photos in general. So lets get started:

  1. Hold the camera steady : I am surprised by how many people just cannot hold a camera stable and complain about blurry shots cursing the camera . Seriously, you can have the fanciest lens and camera but if you don’t know how to hold it it’s all useless.
  2. Buy a tripod: This is for people who are ready to splurge on gear a tripod really helps stabilize a shot more than any human hands. If you cannot buy a tripod don’t worry you can still click great pictures with your skill, you can also use flat surfaces for setting up your camera to substitute a tripod like a book or table indoors and flat rocks outside.
  3. Invest more in education less on gear: If you have money to splurge on gear don’t spend it all on the gear rather get what is required and use the rest on courses and education you can go to exhibitions to view other photographer’s work and take notes.
  4. Go out: You’ll learn the best from mistakes you make so go out and click a few photos show them to friends take constructive criticism and try again remember ‘It’s only a failure if you didn’t learn anything from it’. You can also use the money saved on gear to travel a little in your town though I rather prefer walking around.
  5. Take a few gigs: This ties in with the last point, a few odd jobs like a photoshoot of a friend or nature photography for a contest really helps you give your best and gain experience.
  6. Use your phone if you don’t have a camera – I myself clicked photos with my phone for a long time before I decided to get a camera. So, go out with your phone click a few pictures and see if you like it the grind of going out and searching for places and taking time to click that perfect photo.
  7. Learn to use the pro mode on your phone: I cannot stress this enough just messing around with this mode and seeing what each feature does helped me when I bought a camera as I already knew what to set the shutter speed and iso to in order to click good pictures.
  8. Be patient: I mean this in many ways firstly have patience when clicking a photo to align the frame a bit more and remember your photos don’t have to be perfect they just have to be better than your last one. Secondly, Don’t expect to win your first contest on your first try or think people will be flocking you to hire you to I mean it is possible just the chances of it happening are not very likely.

That is it for the photography tips I will be posting some of the photos I take on my Instagram so stay tuned for that also DM me to tell me which tip helped you the most and also I have an interview with Ivan Scott author of the book ‘Redhead in a blue convertible’ coming up as the next post of the blog so be sure to check out the next post. Thank you for reading this to the end.
